JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Short Course Sales Administrator
DEPARTMENT: Services to Business
OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB:
To ensure a professional quality service for the delivery of short courses. The post requires the
effective and efficient planning of a range of short courses for business and leisure. With a
strong sales focus the position will expand and enhance existing delivery of short courses.
Strong organisational skills are an essential part of the role to ensure a smooth application and
delivery process for the client.
The following list of duties and responsibilities is not meant to be exclusive. It should be taken
as an indicator of the type and level of activity expected of this post. The list does not
represent either priorities or frequency of tasks and should be regularly updated by the post
holder in consultation with and agreement of their line manager.
MAIN TASKS
1. To provide excellent customer service
2. To set up and organise delivery schedules for short courses.
3. Support new course requirements
4. To carry out direct phone sales of short courses, conferences, seminars, and corporate events
5. To liaise closely with curriculum delivery areas, tutors and key personnel to ensure
effective delivery of short courses
6. To assist in developing systems and procedures to support the delivery of short courses
7. To prepare prices and quotations for short courses
8. To administrate the financial requirements of short courses
9. To contribute towards the identification of new opportunities and development of new
products, including short courses, conferences, seminars, and residential events.
10. To ensure that all quality systems are in place and are adhered to
11. To arrange registration and certification of short courses with awarding bodies
12. To ensure that all awarding body and funding requirements are adhered to
13. Ensure effective utilisation of the CRM system to manage clients
14. To provide updated information for use on the website
15. Receive and respond to orders through website, post, telephone, email and internal promptly
16. In conjunction with the College Marketing function, contribute towards the development and
execution of strategic marketing campaigns
17. To produce regular reports on the performance of full cost and short programmes for
business in terms of customer satisfaction, income, recruitment etc.
