         station

Berlin/Hanover. At this year’s Cebit, the FRITZ!Box family is getting ready to
celebrate the premiere of its new flagship product, the FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7390.
For the first time ever, the new FRITZ!Box brings together all of the key
communication functions into a single device: VDSL, ADSL, telephone system,
WLAN, DECT base station, gigabit and network storage. With this new product,
AVM is setting new standards in internet connectivity and home networks.
Broadband connections of up to 100 megabits per second are possible,
depending on the network. Four gigabit Ethernet connections are then
responsible for transmitting the data further. Fast WLAN N can be used at the
same time in the 2.4-GHz and 5-GHz bands for the first time ever in the FRITZ!Box.
Two USB ports are provided to integrate printers, hard drives and other devices.
The standard version that comes with two gigabyte, internal network storage with
NAS functionality will also be premiered. The new FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7390
enhances the successful FRITZ!Box line and will be premiered at the AVM Cebit
booth.

Fast WLAN N Simultaneously in the 2.4 and 5-Gigahertz Bands
For the first time, the new FRITZ!Box 7390 makes WLAN N connections possible in the
2.4-GHz and 5-GHz bands at the same time. The 5-GHz band has proven useful in
areas where there are lots of overlapping wireless networks. By using both wireless
bands simultaneously, devices that access the Internet in only one or the other band can
be used. WLAN is secure straight out of the box with the FRITZ!Box thanks to its pre-
activated WPA/WPA2 encryption. WMM (Wi-Fi multimedia) ensures optimum wireless
transmission of voice, data and multimedia and simultaneous transmission of multiple
streaming applications. FRITZ!Box supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) for WLAN
connections by simply pressing a button. The WLAN network can be switched on and
off, automatically using sleep mode or manually using a button. The WLAN Eco Mode
also optimizes network performance during use.

Integrated Telephone System and DECT Base Station with CAT-iq
Just like the front-runner model, FRITZ!Box 7270, the new FRITZ!Box 7390 offers the
possibility of easy and convenient phone calls over the Internet and fixed-line network
(analog and ISDN), providing connections for two analog telephones and an ISDN
telephone/system. The integrated DECT base station offers wireless convenience with
up to six mobile components. The use of the new DECT wireless standard (CAT-iq)
makes calls over the Internet possible with natural sound (HD telephony). The
FRITZ!Box’s integrated broadband management (quality of service) allows for parallel
applications such as Internet telephony and HD video streaming. With AVM’s new
product you can use important familiar ISDN features intuitively, such as toggling, call
waiting, call diversion and three-way conference calls, for both Internet and fixed-line
network calls.

First-Class Features with Network Storage and NAS Functionality
The new FRITZ!Box 7390 is equipped with an integrated two-gigabyte network storage.
This makes it possible right from the start to access voice and fax messages, photos and
music from the entire network. All data is provided to the devices connected to the
FRITZ!Box by means of NAS functionality (Network Attached Storage) and, if necessary,
securely over the Internet as well. USB memory sticks and external hard drives can be
used to seamlessly expand internal storage. Two USB 2.0 ports are available to
                                                                                               2/3
AVM GmbH Urban Bastert
Alt-Moabit 95 Press Office

Tel. 030/39976-0 Fax 030/39976-640

integrate USB storage, printers and other devices. In conjunction with the print and
media server, which is also integrated, the FRITZ!Box serves as the multimedia basis for
the entire network – even when your computer is turned off. Network storage and other
functions are easy to operate and administer using the FRITZ!Box user interface.

FRITZ!Box with VDSL and ADSL – Lots of Nice Extras
Because it combines both VDSL and ADSL, the FRITZ!Box 7390 can be used for every
type of DSL broadband access. This product, developed in-house by the Berlin
communications specialist, was designed to achieve transfer rates of up to 100 megabits
per second. The new FRITZ!Box is optimized with its high-performance hardware to
satisfy all quality of service requirements for any future IP networks. IPv6 connections
are also supported for the first time in both DSL and local networks. VPN connections
(LAN-LAN, LAN-client) can be established using the secure IPSec processes. An
integrated SIP proxy also makes it possible to hook up IP telephones. If DSL is
unavailable, broadband connections can be established with a UMTS/HSPA stick
inserted into the FRITZ!Box’s USB port.

Save Energy with the FRITZ!Box
The new FRITZ!Box with its incredible versatility replaces up to eight separate devices,
each with its own power supply. When individual devices are in use, even in standby
mode, the amount of energy used adds up – around the clock. FRITZ!Box brings
together everything you need into a single device and reduces energy use to a minimum
with the FRITZ!Box Eco Modus for WLAN, DECT and Ethernet. Current FRITZ!Box
products have received numerous awards for energy efficiency, most recently the
“Green IT Award 2008”.
