Gary previously worked with two other international accounting firms in Guernsey, the Channel Islands, and London. Gary has extensive experience advising clients on international tax issues, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganisations, joint ventures and business start-ups, as well as planning for high net worth individuals. A major part of Gary's role is to help multinational enterprises to expand their business in Asia Pacific, especially in China. Claus Schuermann, Tax Partner, WTS Hong Kong Claus is a Partner of WTS Hong Kong with a responsibility for Hong Kong, China, Singapore and Taiwan. He has over 17 years of practical corporate tax experience in Germany, Singapore, China and Hong Kong, providing tax advice to companies and individuals. Previously, Claus was the head of the European Tax Desk of a Big 4 audit firm based in Shanghai. From 2003 to 2005, he was based in Singapore where he served multinational companies with regard to International and Singapore tax matters, including tax incentives and using Singapore as a regional hub. He also led projects covering the Asia-Pacific region. Before 2003, Claus was based in Duesseldorf, where he mainly served German and Japanese MNCs and advised them with regard to German and international tax matters, including tax audit defense, tax due diligence, Intellectual Property migration.
