Although he was placed on the Chicago Crime Com

,We have six teams on a bye this week. And those drunken freeloaders have
considerably pared down the number of betting options that we have. But don't
get flustered, and don't get desperate. If needs be, cut back your plays this
week to account for the fact that with fewer games to handicap the lines may
be a little stronger heading into week six.Besides that, I think that this
weekend is foreboding. Four of the 13 games have double-digit spreads, there
are a few trap and sandwich games, teams we haven't seen for two weeks, teams
that haven't won a game yet, odd totals, and Art Shell. All in all, this has
the makings of a harrowing - yet thoroughly enjoyable - two days of football. So
without further ado, here are my Week 6 NFL Power Rankings:1.Chicago (5-0)
- The starters were still on the field at the end of a 40-7 blowout to try
to preserve a shutout. That's the type of cold-blooded, icy-veined will that
Super Bowl champions must have. They're outscoring opponents
31-7.2.Indianapolis (5-0) - The Colts have rushed for more than 150 yards
twice in a row. They only reached that mark three times in their past 279
games. However, they only won these last two games by four total
points.3.Philadelphia (4-1) - Against Dallas, Philly scoring drives lasted
about as long as a box of Krispy Kremes in front of Andy Reid. The Eagles
averaged three plays and one minute.4.Denver (3-1) - ESPN ran a stat on Rod
Smith that said that he had a better winning percentage than Jerry Rice.
Smith's teams are 98-48 (.669) and Rice's teams went 181-102-1 (.639). Found
that interesting.5. Baltimore (4-1) - They'll be in another dogfight this
weekend. Brian Billick has been a strong bounce back coach, posting a 12-2
ATS mark off a game in which he lost both straight up and against the
spread.5.Seattle (3-1) - Now that they've had three full weeks to get used
to the idea of not having Shaun Alexander, I expect the Seahawks offense to
put some points on the board against a banged up St. Louis defense.6.Atlanta
(3-1) - Atlanta is 1-3 vs. the total because they've converted just 18 percent
of their red zone opportunities into touchdowns. In 17 trips to the red zone,
they've lost yardage on 27 percent of their plays (13 of 49). They're 4-1
ATS against the Giants.7.San Diego (3-1) - I think this could be a trap game
for San Diego. They're young and a little too full of themselves, and they're
facing a team that's scrappy at home.8.New England (4-1) - Pats have a week
to get healthy before going to Buffalo. The best thing that could happen is
that the Bills beat Detroit, because that may get this line under a
touchdown.10. Cincinnati (3-1) - There's no truth to the rumor that the
Bengals singed Lawrence Philips during the bye week. There is truth that they
will have a new starting center this week, as injured/ineffective Rich Braham
will be out.11. Carolina (3-2) - Last year the Panthers were sixth in
third-down efficiency (42.2 percent). This year they're 32nd (18.6 percent).
Steve Smith had six drops and 103 catches last season, but already has four
drops with 23 receptions this year.12. New Orleans (4-1) - The Saints gave
up 16 plays of more than 10 yards to Tampa Bay, and now they face an Eagles
team averaging about 15-yards per completion. Oh, and they'll be doing it
without their starting safety.13. Jacksonville (3-2) - The Jags are now
without their top sack man (Reggie Hayward) and top tackler (Mike Peterson)
from last year. The good news is that they play just one team with a winning
record in the next five weeks.14. Dallas (2-3) - Look for the Cowboys to go
back to Keith Davis at free safety. Rookie Pat Watkins got roasted for two
long TD passes last week, and Houston likes to stretch the field with their
passing attack.15. New York Giants (2-2) - The Giants defense has stopped
adjusting schemes at the line of scrimmage based on offensive formations.
The simplified approach resulted in a more confident and active unit against
Washington.16. St. Louis (4-1) - Tye Hill struggled in his first start on
Sunday, and the Rams other three corners (Fakhir Brown, Travis Fisher and
Ron Bertell) are all nicked up. But the Rams have a severe revenge factor
going this weekend.17. Pittsburgh (1-3) - No Bill Cowher team has ever started
1-4. This team isn't this bad, but they also haven't shown me much.18.
Minnesota (3-2) - Of their 30 red zone plays this year the Vikings have thrown
only ten passes. Just three of those passes have gone into the end zone.19.
Washington (2-3) - In two horrendous road division losses the Redskins have
been outscored 46-13 and outgained 778-409.20. Kansas City (2-2) - This team
could get exposed - big time - against Pittsburgh. Even getting a touchdown
you have to ask yourself: can they go into Heinz Field and win? The Chiefs
are 2-8-1 ATS versus the Steelers recently.21. New York Jets (2-3) - For
whatever reason (mostly because the teams behind them are awful) I'm not
penalizing the Jets for their 41-0 bludgeoning last week.22. Buffalo (2-3)
- FYI, London Fletcher-Baker didn't hyphenate his name because he recently
was married and is pussy whipped. Baker is a family name and he wanted to
honor his grandfather.23. San Francisco (2-3) - Frank Gore didn't fumble in
a game for the first time this season. He credited Omar Epps in "The Program"
for inspiring him.24. Miami (1-4) - Stop me if you've heard this one before:
Joey Harrington is our savior.25. Houston (1-3) - The Texans have the
third-fewest rushing attempts in the league and are averaging just 3.2 yards
per carry. Just like Mike Shanahan is strong after a bye, I believe the Gary
Kubiak will have his charges ready to rumble with in-state rival Dallas.26.
Tampa Bay (0-4) - The Tampa Bay defense has gotten really old, really fast.
They're 28th in sacks, 30th in turnovers forced and 30th in rush defense.
Coach John Gruden called out the defensive line - by name - this week so look
for a chip on the shoulder.27. Cleveland (1-4) - Maurice Carthon better start
carrying a .22. The much-maligned coordinator called for rookie fullback
Larry Vickers to throw an option pass on third-and-inches in Carolina. That's
straight out of the Mularkey Playbook.28. Arizona (1-4) - I fear for Leinart's
life. At least he'll have that one magical night with Paris to hold onto in
the hospital bed. Oh, and not only is Fitzgerald out, but starting right guard
Milford Brown and starting nose tackle Kendrick Clancy are as well.29. Green
Bay (1-4) - The Packers are running the risk of wrath from the Football Gods
by keeping a dope-smoking, drunk-driving, Korey Stringer Good Guy Recipient
on their roster. I mean, Koren The Drunk is just a No. 3.30. Detroit (0-5)
- For the fifth time in six games the Lions will have a different starting
offensive line. This week's version will be without three of their projected
opening game starters.31. Tennessee (0-5) - For you fantasy folk out there,
Travis Henry is the clear No. 1 back in Tennessee, with LenDale White backing
him up. The Titans should be looking to deal Chris Brown before the trading
deadline.32. Oakland (0-4) - Didn't Randy Moss ever see "Firestorm"? Howie
Long is a badass!Questions or comments for Robert? E-mail him at.,,If you
are a true die hard Baltimore Orioles fan, a true fan of baseball, then you
know that the Orioles started their life in 1954 in the Major Leagues. They
were formerly located and named the Browns in St. Louis and had a long running
history of championships and victories. If you are a casual fan you are
probably only familiar with their most recent unsuccessful seasons track
record. In their day though they won six (6) American League Pennants, they
were the World Series Champs in 1966, 1970 and 1983. A lot of the teams success
comes directly from the numerous great players who wore the Orioles' team
uniform on the playing field. The Ironman:Cal Ripken, Jr.Cal Ripken, Jr. is
undoubtedly one of Orioles most loved player, nicknamed the Ironman in the
game of Baseball, he was Rookie of the Yr in 1982 and was held MVP in 1983
and 1991. With over 3,000 games played he held the record for playing the
most games of anyone while an Oriole team member and held most hits at 3,184.
Believe it not, he even held the most runs scored, home runs and RBIs. His
most well known of records was the consecutive games played on the field at
2,632. His career was not a simple result of having his reliability and
longevity due to being injury free during this career, that would be a wrong
assumption. He did have his share of injuries though minor during this years,
but never did he let any of his injuries get in his way of being on the team
lineup.Frank Robinson wasn't so washed upIn 1966 the team acquired Frank
Robinson. He was transferred from Cincinnati Reds Team because they were sure
he was well past his playing prime. Little did the Reds know they were trading
over a steal to the Orioles team. He surged that year with the Orioles, he
topped the ABL in home runs, RBIs and batting average. Along with that great
come back he was awarded the Amer. League MVP that year. He drove 179 baseballs
out of their park, batted.300 and had well over 500 RBIs. When he retired
the Orioles did a first, they rewarded him by retiring his number with
him.Oriole's Greatest PitcherThe three time winner of the Cy Young award goes
to Jim Palmer, the greatest Oriole team pitcher to take his position on the
mound for the Orioles uniform. He had over 260 winning games, pitched 53
shutouts, threw over 2,000 strikes and credited for over 558 games. He
certainly is a true legend with the Baltimore fans and so deserving of it.
He's the only Major League Baseball pitcher to have competed in and to win
the World Series in three (3) different decades. His wining capacity and
longevity helped make the Orioles a consistent contender in their League.
No wonder today's true Oriole fans still look back and remember the days of
Palmer and that era.,,The Chicago Cubs is a Major League Baseball team that
is based in Chicago, Illinois. They are owned by the Tribune Company and
managed by Lou Piniella, whereas John McDonough and Jim Hendry serve as its
president and General Manager respectively. The Cubs and the Chicago White
Sox are the two major league teams that are based in Chicago. Both of these
clubs are the chartered members of their respective leagues. After the success
of the Cincinnati Red Stockings, the first professional team ever in 1869
several openly professional teams appeared on the scene around 1870. Each
team aimed at scoring a victory against the Red Stockings. Several teams
adopted different colors and strategies. White was chosen by the Chicago Cubs.
A professional league named as the National Association was formed around
1871. it was a first of its kind.Although the Cubs have seen some overall
good seasons, they have failed to achieve the World Series championship title
since 1908.In the 1984 NLCS, the Baseball Cubs played against the San Diego
Padres and managed two comfortable victories on their home ground. However
the next three games were to be held in San Diego. Of these the Cubs only
required one win to make it to the final. They lost the first of these games
by a considerable margin. The fourth game was also lost after Steve Garey
hit a winning home run. The fifth game was not any different. But they managed
to take a led in the sixth game. But a little error led to the victory of
the San Diego Padres that took them into the World Series.Four years later
their opponents were the San Francisco Giants in 1989 NLCS. History repeated
itself. They won the first two games and despite having a lead lost three
straight games owing to small blunders on the management's behalf and the
players, resulting to their exit from the NLCS.However they managed to emerge
victorious against the Atlanta Braves in the NLDS after 14 years. This win
made history as it was their first postseason series win since 1908. After
this they managed to win against Florida Marlins at a score of 3-1. it was
being assumed that they will reach the World Series after 58 seasons.A wild
card entry entered them into the 1998 playoffs. Two young players, Sammy Sosa
and Kerry Wood were main contributors to the teams overall success. Their
opponents were once again the Atlanta Braves but they failed to repeat their
earlier magic and lost out to the Atlanta Braves in three consecutive
games.Later in the 2006 season the Cubs were once again in a very good form.
But unfortunately tan injury to their star player Derek Lee who was their
baseman, sent the team into frenzy. They performed poorly and also set a record
of scoring just 13 runs in 11 games. For more information you can

"America's national sport". Historical evidence of baseball indicates that
its roots stem from cricket and rounders, both very popular games originating
in Great Britain. The baseball we know and love today has gradually developed
over many years. By the end of the 18th century, many forms of baseball were
being played all over the United States. In New York City, they played a game
called "One o' Cat". Other cities were playing "Town Ball" and "New York Ball".
These early renditions of the sport were played on a square field. Originally
for bases they used stakes, later replacing the stakes with stones, but to
prevent further injuries, the stones were then replaced with sand filled
sacks. It wasn't until then that people started to call them bases and this
is where the name "baseball" originated. It wasn't until somewhere between
1850 and 1860 that baseball became increasingly popular and in 1869,
professional baseball was introduced by the Cincinnati Red Stockings. Other
official teams represented cities from Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago,
Brooklyn, Cleveland, New York, Ohio and four other cities. Several other teams
were added throughout the next quarter of the century. In 1900, what we know
as the American League was founded and fought for many years to be recognized
as an equal to the National League. Jackie Robinson was the first black player
to join the Major Leagues in 1947, playing for the Brooklyn Dodgers. There
are several aspects that make the game of baseball what it is. For example,
a teams strategy can make or break whether or not that particular team will
win or lose games. Keeping in mind that your strategy will differ with each
team you play against. An important factor to your strategy is your batting
order and pitching rotation. Batting orders should be based upon your players
different contributing strengths and sometimes weaknesses. While one player
may be a fast runner, or power hitter, the next could be a dependable bunter.
A batting order is designed so that the players strengths will work together,
trying to advance runners and get players on the bases.Pitching requires as
much mental skill as it does physical. A perfect pitching scenario would be
a "perfect game", where the opposing team does not reach base once. The next
best scenario and more common one, is what we called a "No Hitter". This is
where the pitcher does not allow a single safe hit by the opposing team.
Pitching line ups change often because pitchers are usually required two to
three days off between games to allow their arms to rest. However, it is
important to try and align your best pitchers to be in rotation when you are
facing a more competitive team.Today, there are many different leagues other
than Major League Baseball (MLB), each complete with several divisions within
the actual league. Baseball is truly a part of American history, where
generations have watched the sport unfold into the force it is now. It's a
flashy, competitive, skill-driven sport and over the years has never lost
the real reason as to why it is so vastly popular. Year after year, from city
to city, stadium to stadium, people gather for one reason and one reason -
the simple love of the game.,,10) Sunny GarciaFamed surfer Sunny Garcia won
