East of England
Teaching & Learning Fair
10.00 -15.30 Wednesday 28th March 2012
British Racing School, Newmarket

Event aims:

The event aims to explore, share and celebrate some examples of effective practice in teaching
and learning and will provide participants with the opportunity to consider how to develop
inspiring, innovative and outstanding teaching and learning in the current context of change and
challenge. The programme should be of interest to operational and curriculum managers,
subject learning coaches and advance practitioners, teacher educators and teachers from all
parts of the sector.

Draft programme:

      Welcome and Introduction – Andrew Thomson ACER
      LSIS Update – Chris Cherry LSIS
      Some Fun and Games with Teaching and Learning – Mike Cooper
      The New Common Inspection Framework - TBC
      Workshops include:

           o   Prepared for Inspection – Geraldine Burns and Kevin Finnigan
           o   Practical e learning for learner engagement – Bob Read
           o   Employability, Progression and QCF – Diane Muallem
           o   Moving Forward with STEM – Elaine Cornwell
           o   Observing Teaching & Learning – Judith Hammer
           o   Embedding Sustainability through interactivity - Gareth Thomas

Date: Wednesday 28th March

Time and Place:            The East of England Teaching and Learning Fair will take place at the British
Racing School, Snailwell Road, Newmarket, CB8 7NU. Registration will be from 09.30 and the event will
begin at 10.00. It will finish at 15.30. Lunch will be provided.
