The P.E. Seal is printing on ever other page.

Problem:
When plotting to OCE, the P.E. seal only prints to every other page.
(This is a known problem using the printer driver for oce p2)

Solution:
Plot to the districts’ oce p1 plotter.
This plot queue uses a different printer driver - check for the
printer setup procedures on printer setups step by step or printer
   setups at a glance documents.

Troubleshooter Menu
User wants to create a Metric database

Problem:
User wants to create a Metric Database, get confirmation
that the database has been created, but when he opens
the file, the database isn’t there.

Solution:
Consultants should contact PennDot if they need to do
metric tabulations. PennDot users have to log on as
Metric for 36” size sheets. They should then be able to
  create the proper files.

Troubleshooter Menu
Grouping SR roads before Side Roads
Problem:
User wants the SR roads to appear before the
  side roads.

Solution:
You can manipulate the grouping title by adding
a space before the SR grouping name. This will
cause the SR road to appear before the side
roads when they are sorted alphabetically.

Troubleshooter Menu
      Problem displaying page number

Problem:
Page number is being displayed incorrectly or
  not at all.

Solution:
Under the project information, make sure that
the page numbers are set and the A/B field is set
  to 1.

Troubleshooter Menu
   Problems viewing different column types

Problem:
Receive error messages when attempting to
  view the different column types.

Solution:
Make sure column numbers match the different
tab types on the tab sheet form. Adjust the
printer settings. (Once settings are changed, perform a print
  to retain the settings)

Troubleshooter Menu
“Route Line Error 29” – Gaps / Grouping title
    and information misaligned on sheets.
Problem:
You receive an error when you attempt to view the Tab Sheet. “Route
line error” is a message that tells you that there is a header on the last
line of one page and its corresponding information is on another
page. You’ll want to push the grouping title to the top of the next
page by placing a blank line at the end of the any previous grouping
   title listing.

Solution:
Add a blank line space at the bottom of the records on the edit tab
sheet form. Enter the tab type and grouping title used in the message
-You need to add a blank line record for (street) in (tabulation type)
and then hit the “Close and Re-Sort” button. The added line will then
be placed in the appropriate sort order when you reopen the form and
re-preview the tab sheet you will not get this message anymore.

Troubleshooter Menu
                Runtime error 3163

Problem:
When trying to view the summary sheet you receive an
  error message “Runtime Error 3163”

Solution:
The files are “too deep” (inside too many subfolders). A
file path name can be no longer than 50 characters.
Move the files to where they have either have no
subfolders or one subfolder and re-attach to database if
  it was an attachment.

Troubleshooter Menu
              Runtime error 3021

Problem:
When trying to make a 2 column tab sheet you
  receive a “Runtime Error 3021”.

Solution:
Ensure you have entered stationing information.

Troubleshooter Menu
Can I have more than 26 Items?
A/B plan procedures for XP ver.
Problem:
Need to enter more than 26 different Items

Solution:
The current version of AutoTAB can handle tabulations that require
over 26 items. Sheets can now be broken down into A/B/C
Example: Sheet 1A, 2A, 1B, 2B. Look for documentation concerning
a/b plans in manuals. The XP version has a procedure on the
Utilities form to copy all of A stationing to B stationing. Type in a “B”
tab type name and enter the “B” item numbers then do the copy
stations procedure. All copied stations will have no quants toggled
on remove this toggle once you enter the appropriate quantities for
   the station.

Troubleshooter Menu
Print Preview of sheet is smaller
             than normal.
Problem:
Previewing a tab sheet and it is too small.

Solution:
Do a print preview, then file – print setup – change the
laser printers scaling to 100% from 98%. Then go back
to the OCE and make the print settings as they should
be and it will preview ok. The laser’s scale factor was
being used instead of the Oce scale factor.

Troubleshooter Menu
          Problems entering a unit cost
in the Edit Unit Cost page
Problem:
When you try to enter a unit cost the information is not
  retained. (Problem in 407 report)

Solution:
Make sure that the design numbers are entered correctly
for the items you are entering unit costs for. (Also need
design number in and / or items. Or items do not retain
information such as unit cost. If in the XP version –
make sure you are using a version dated equal or later
  than 6/07/07.

Troubleshooter Menu
Problems printing a 407 report or Cost
             Estimate Report.
Problem:
An error message is received when trying to print a
report from the ECMS management section.

Solution:
These reports are defaulted to print on an 8 ½ x 11
sheet. If the default printer is OCE on your workstation,
then you need to select a printer which will print 8 ½ x
  11. This must be done under printers from your
  workstation start menu.

        Margin will not accept 0
Problem:
When trying to type in a margin of 0 for OCE p1, it will
not accept the zero and uses another higher number.

Solution:
Under your printers preferences. Make sure you’ve set
the printable area defaults to the following. Image Size
Correction is toggled off and Units = Inch. If your MORE
or PREFERENCES button has anything different you
will have to keep changing them every time you print.
This should be done under your workstation – start menu

Problem:
  Preview looks Oversized or Undersized.

Solution:
Make sure you are using the appropriate printer setups
for margins and scaling etc. If you know they are
correct. Check the following. If preview looks oversized
  – go into OCE p2 and change the scale factor from
200% to 100% and retry. If preview looks too small – go
into your laser printer’s scale factor and make sure it has

Update your database if you are not using the latest
version of MasterTAB. Also, make sure you have
attached your databases in ascending sheet number
order. The latest version of MasterTAB attempts to
connect the same items from different tab databases and
place them in ascending sheet number order.

1. If you are creating a dummy tab sheet database just to get
summary only items items. Make sure you have at least 2
information only items “99” entered on the edit items form or you
   may get errors.
2. You can only preview a 1 column tab sheet with no items entered.
3. Do not put spaces in your folder or file names.
4. Do use starting and total sheet numbers.
5. After you delete an item number – remember to click the sort
   button.
6. If you’ve entered your “99” information only items and they are not
sorted like you want them to be. Sort then copy and paste the
descriptions in the order you want them. Re sort the items and they
should stay in the order you placed them.
7. Click the sort button after you enter a summary only either item. If
you need to use the connect feature you will be in the appropriate
   position.

Using Multiple Columns Diff Tab Types
All tab sheets will have only 26 slots to fill regardless of
  how many columns are used
Change the Column numbering in the Edit Items Form
The sort order number will guide you as to which column
the item will be placed in
One column uses all 26 slots
Two columns use the first 11 slots and the last 11 spots
leaving 4 blank slots between the columns
Three columns use the first 6 slots, leaves 3 blank, the
next 6 slots, leaves the next 5 blank and then uses the
  last 6

            Runtime error 3024
Problem:
When trying to attach an AutoTAB file to the MasterTAB
you get an error “Runtime Error 3024”

Solution:
When entering the file path, be sure that there is a “\”
  after a folder name.
For example G:\Folder\AutoTAB is incorrect it
must be types in the format G:\Folder\AutoTAB\

AutoTAB files will not print to OCE
Problem:
No AutoTAB files from anywhere will print –
sheets preview correctly and seems to go to the
  print spool but doesn’t print.

Solution:
Reboot the plot server and turn the plotter off
and on again. All printing should resume now.

  Can not preview 8 ½ x 11 portrait
     or landscape tab sheets.
Problem:
Get runtime error when previewing either landscape or
portrait 8 ½ reports and program kicks you out without
  previewing.

Solution:
Go to the utilities form and upgrade your project. This
will solve the issue. The problem happens when user
tries to change print setups of the 8 ½ tab sheets. User
should not need to change this setups because they use
the default laser printer setups for 8 ½ x 11 paper.

    Changing/Grouping the order of
      stations. (Grouping Titles)
Problem:
Stations are grouped on a sheet by alphabetical tab type,
alphabetical grouping title, entire projects, as directed – then in
   ascending start station order.

Solution:
All stations with the same grouping title are grouped together. Put a
space before a grouping title if you want that first and it doesn’t
naturally appear first alphabetically. The trsort number overrides all
grouping titles and is used mainly by traffic units but roadway plans
   could use this field too.

Adding more than 4 “Either / and/or” items
Problem:
Only 4 Either and or item field lines available per summary form line
record and I need to have 8 and/or items attached to my either

Solution:
Go to the Either line record in the summary form. Click the add a
blank line after this item. This will create a blank line record directly
after the Either item. Select “Connect” from the alt type pulldown,
this will automatically place a 99999999 in the item number field.
Type in the design number and sheet number that is being used with
the Either line record and now use the 4 and/or item field lines in this
connect record line. Attach as many connect records that are
needed to satisfy the number of and/or’s that attach to the Either.
