Preparation for the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation is a two-year process of
spiritual formation; Confirmation will occur in the Fall of 2012. As a candidate for
Confirmation, your child is being invited to pledge a commitment of time and talent, and
to attend a special Mass.
Over the coming months, your child will be doing a lot of thinking, sharing, praying,
celebrating, caring and growing. It is important to realize that Confirmation is the
beginning of a real and lasting commitment to Christ, to his Church, and to this parish.
Your child will need your support and encouragement during this time.
Please read and discuss the attached “Commitment Pledge” carefully with your child. It is
very important that you and your child discuss the expectations of the program and you
agree to meet those expectations to the best of your abilities. To return the
Commitment Pledge, you and your child will attend the 7:00 PM Mass on Sunday,
November 21, 2010. This signed pledge marks your child’s entry into the preparation
process so it must be returned. Your child will receive a Bible at the Mass to bring to
class every week and to use for his/her personal prayer and study throughout the
Confirmation Preparation Program.
Your child is invited to participate more fully at the Mass by presenting the
Offertory gifts or by being a lector for the First or Second Reading. Please
encourage your child to participate and call the office at 261-1306 to volunteer.
I am looking forward to seeing your family at the Commitment Pledge Mass. The entire
parish welcomes your child and offers prayerful support along the way.
Sincerely in Christ,
Mrs. Patricia Seibert
