					Satellite Ticket Printers (STP)

General The satellite ticket printer application allows agencies to
automate the distribution of tickets. Agencies can install printers
in remote locations and issue tickets to those remote printers
from the agency location. Typically agencies install satellite ticket
printers on the premises of corporate accounts.

 Host agencies can setup satellite ticket printers in as many
                                            locations as they choose.
 Each STP site is assigned its own pseudo city and ARC
                                            number.
 Apollo uses ADP printers in STP locations.
 Host agencies use service bureau CRTs to emulate STP
locations and link to STP printers.
 Host agencies issue tickets by emulating the STP location
                                            and driving the ticket.
 Host agencies can choose to print all documents (travel and
administrative) at the STP location or can setup split
ticketing. Split Ticketing allows agencies to print travel
documents at the STPs and administrative documents at the
                                            host location.

Types of STPs There are two types of STPs.

                                        Dedicated Line

                                        OSDP Manager (Dial-up)

                                       Dedicated Line
In a dedicated environment, communication between the host and the
STP is via a dedicated data line. A dedicated line is leased from the
phone company and is said to be “dedicated” because it is used only by
the leasee. Conversely, when you pick up a telephone and dial a
number, you are provided with any “available” circuit, not currently in
                                       use.

Required equipment at the STP site:

                                                  TPU or gateway
                                                  ADP type printer, (2200, 2300, 2400, 2800)
                                                  Modem
                                                  Optional itinerary printer (810)

The dedicated configuration is recommended for STP locations with a
                                       large volume of tickets.

When a ticket is requested in this environment, the required data for
transmission is received directly from Apollo, and depending on the

                                       OSDP Manager (Dial-Up)
In an OSDP dial-up environment communication between the host and
the STP location is via a regular voice line.

OSDP Manager workstation, (installed at the host location), controls
the communication for STP locations used by the agency. Auto-dial and
auto-answer modems are used to eliminate the need for manual
                                       intervention in the communication process.

The ODSP manager receives the command to issue a ticket, identifies
the location by ARC number, dials the remote location, sends the ticket,
waits for a print assurance message, then disconnects.

The OSDP Manager voice line must not go through a PBX system

Required equipment at the STP site:
                                                  ADP type printer, (2200, 2300, 2400, 2800)
                                                  Modem
                                                  Smart Switch
                                                  Optional itinerary printer (810)
Required equipment at the Host site:
                                                  ADP type printer, (2200, 2300, 2400, 2800)
                                                  Modem

Split ticketing allows a host agency to send travel documents to an STP
Split Ticketing
and print the administrative documents at the host location.

Split ticketing can also be used by a branch agency to direct travel
documents to their office printer, while simultaneously directing the
administrative documents to their home office.

Apollo offers two and three way split ticketing.

Travel and administrative documents are identified below.

                                       Travel documents :
                                                  Passenger flight coupons
                                                  Passenger receipt
 Passenger copy of charge form (optional)
                                                  Pocket itineraries (optional)
                                                  Itinerary/Invoices (optional)

                                       Administrative documents:
                                                  Agent Coupon
                                                  Auditors Coupon
                                                  Charge form

To allow split document ticketing, the following change to the AAT
AAT Setup
                                       table must be made.

 The host ticket printer LNIATA/GTID must be added to STPs
OUTPUT field. This allows the branch or STP to link to the host
office’s printer as well as to their own printer.

Two way split In two way split ticketing, documents are split between a branch or STP
ticketing site and a host location. Typically the travel documents are sent to the
branch or STP and administrative documents are sent to the host
                                       location.

When a ticket is issued from the STP the administrative documents
print at the host, travel documents print at the STP.

Example 1: Main office wants to do the ARC report and wants all
administrative documents to print at the main office location.

Example 2: An agency installs an STP printer at a corporate account.
The agency wants all administrative documents to print at the agency
location. All travel documents will print at the corporate account.

Three way split In three way split ticketing, documents are split between a branch or
ticketing STP site, a host location and a “home” location. Typically the travel
documents are sent to the STP location. The agent coupon is retained
by a branch office (host) and the auditor and charge form are sent to a
                                       home/main office location.

Example: An American Express Business Travel Center is issuing
tickets at an STP site. They want the travel documents to go to the STP,
the agent coupon to go to the BTC and the auditors and charge form to
go to their support center (home/main office) in Phoenix.

ADP Options table for The ADP Options table provides a method of manually selecting the
Split Ticketing documents and options desired by an agency for the ADP printer.
There are two pages to the ADP options table. In a split ticketing
environment, the first page (ex. $-GA7/ADP) is where the printer and
software version are located. The second page (ex. $-GA7/ADP/S)
controls the documents for split ticketing.

 The table can be updated at any time.

 Only the host agency can update its table.

 Only the secondary authorizer can perform ADP Options table
                                            updates.

 The host must emulate the STP and update the STP ADP Options
                                            table – both pages!

 The ADP Options table for the STP location controls the printers
of split documents at all locations. CRT linkage does not have to
be established before this table can be updated.

To setup the Options for split ticketing, do the following:

                                       1. Emulate the STP pseudo

                                       6. If changes are made to the HOME indicators, it will be assumed
that the agency is doing three way split ticketing. An error message
will appear if an attempt is made to issue tickets in a two way
environment when the ADP Options table is set up as a three way,
                                            and vice versus.

Fallback & Recovery Formats
Fallback & recovery has been enhanced to include a method of
transmitting host office documents from an OSDP location.
Transmitting documents selectively to different locations requires
careful control of coupons at both host and branch locations.
Security has been added to maintain the integrity of matching
administrative documents (e.g. auditor and agent coupons) to each
transmitted passenger ticket. Once the STP pseudo is linked to the host
ticket printer, the host office cannot alter this status.
If a host printer is down, the administrative documents and associated
STP images route to the PENDING queue to prevent transmitting
viable passenger documents without their associated administrative
documents. Typical scenarios are described as follows:

                                       Scenario One
Passenger documents “hang” in the STP printer buffer. A simple
retransmission with HQXX is all that is required. This entry is made
from the OSDP location and transmits new administrative documents to
the host printer, new passenger documents to the STP. To ensure proper
document reconciliation, the original documents and images in both
locations are voided on the TINS report and new ticket and stock
control numbers are issued. In the formats below the xxxxxx represents
                                       the LNIATA/GTID of ticketing device.

                                       Formats:
HQXXxxxxxx Reroute buffered images to demand pending
                                       HMOMxxxxxx-U Bring printer status up
                                       HQSxxxxxx Quick start the printer

                                       Scenario 2
Administrative documents fail to issue in the host printer and the
passenger documents successfully print at the STP site. It is necessary
to retransmit the administrative documents using the same information,
(i.e. ticket number) as the passenger documents. This can be done from
the host office service bureau terminal by emulating the STP and
                                       retrieving the HST image.

                                       Formats:
HQB/HST/DS Display Host Demand Sent buffer
HQB/MD Move down to desired image
                                       HQNN Retransmit image

The HQNN voids only the stock control numbers at the host and
retransmits the administrative documents with new stock control
numbers and original ticket numbers. Nothing is touched on the OSDP
                                       location side.

                                       Scenario 3
Neither host nor STP documents issue. The printers are functioning.
Check the TINS tables. If the TINS table is low or out of numbers at the
host or home locations, no documents will issue. Contact the host or
home locations and ask that they rebuild the TINS table.

                                       Formats:
                                       HMTN/D Display TINS

TINS Report The TINS report for each location is automatically updated for split
ticketing. When a TINS report for one location is displayed, all other
pseudo cities involved in each ticket transmission are included. This
helps account for all documents issued.

The TINS report below was displayed from the STP pseudo: ZK0.
