Cars 2 is a 2011 American computer-animated action film produced by
Pixar, and it is the sequel to the 2006 film, Cars. In the film, Star racecar Lightning
McQueen (Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (voice of Larry
the Cable Guy) take their friendship to exciting new places in “Cars 2” when they
head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the
world’s fastest car.

But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours
and hilarious surprises when Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) gets caught up in an
intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage.

The film is directed by John Lasseter, co-directed by Brad Lewis, written by
Ben Queen, and produced by Denise Ream. Cars 2 is also the first film John
Lasseter has directed since the original Cars in 2006.
                    Interpretative Recount
Actually, Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) is not like participating in a
race again after he won the Piston Cup four times. Unfortunately, because
persuasion Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) and Sally Carrera (Bonnie Hunt), Lightning
return following the World Grand Prix. Except this time the race has to be colored
dangerous mission.

Miles Axlerod (Eddie Izzard) has a new fuel product called Allinol and now
he held the World Grand Prix to prove that their products deserve to be the
mainstay. Because the challenged Francesco Bernoulli (John Turturro), the
Lightning finally agreed to go racing this time. Outside of racing knowledge of the
participants, Professor Zundapp (Thomas Kretschmann) was intended to impede
efforts Miles Axlerod.Professor Zundapp participants planning to blow up car
racing and make it as if Allinol is the cause.

Fortunately two British secret agent, Finn McMissile (Michael Caine) and
Holley Shiftwell (Emily Mortimer) were aware of it and tried to reach the United
States secret agent who reportedly also aware of this evil plan. Because of one
fateful event, even mistaken for a secret agent United States and began this
Cars is the second Pixar film, after Toy Story, to have a sequel. John
Lasseter, the director of the film, said that he was convinced of the sequel's story
while traveling around the world promoting the first film. He said:

“ I kept looking out thinking, 'What would Mater do in this situation, you
know?' I could imagine him driving around on the wrong side of the road in the UK,
going around in big, giant traveling circles in Paris, on the autobahn in Germany,
dealing with the motor scooters in Italy, trying to figure out road signs in Japan.”

The film was presented in Disney Digital 3D and IMAX 3D, as well as
traditional two-dimensional and IMAX formats. Unlike the previous films that tell
the spirit and camaraderie, the sequel to the film The Cars are more directed to
the adventure by describing some countries as an illustration of the racecourse.
                    Evaluation Summation
Cars 2 remains quite interesting spectacle. The quality of animation is clear
beyond doubt as the voice actor or actress is also not new. Story line offer is also
quite good, although not something that feels fresh.

The film is also the main character Lightning McQueen is not very
prominent, but he is a Mater of friends who become secret agents.

Funny scene in this film also became an interesting thing. Thrilling
adventure presented from the beginning to the end of the story but unfortunately
the use of guns in this movie is not suitable watched by children and must be
guide by parents.
             Cross Cultural Understanding
Concerning the value for a cross-cultural understanding, we can say that the film
isn’t same culture with us.

 Cars in the movie drink from alcohol related glasses in bar or club. Drinking
alcoholic beverages is prohibited by religion and against the culture of the
     eastern people.
 Mater has eyes for Holley Shiftwell and calls her his girlfriend but she isn’t
his girlfriend. We see the cultural manners of speaking are very different.
 A couple of cars kiss briefly in the movie. Kissing in public places that are
different from us. Western people are not ashamed to do things like this but
for people east, it is very embarrassing.
