							The Importance of Being Real

Be real. Be yourself. That sounds so simple. But in reality, it ends up being so hard!(at least it was for
me). Why is being yourself and being real in Network Marketing even an issue? Why am I even talking
about it?



Well, we are conditioned in Network Marketing to 'fake it till we make it', aren't we? We are really
conditioned to act like somebody we're not. Perhaps in trying to make it look like we're making the big
bucks, we might take a picture in front of a really expensive car, as if it were our own. Or perhaps even
roll in front of a random house in a nice neighborhood and take a picture of us in front of it to perhaps
make it look like it's ours. But, by doing such things we're fooling ourselves and others, because in the
end, it most likely won't significantly help our bottom line, or how much money we end up making. 'Why
is that?', you may ask.



Well, a principle reason is because it's based on the wrong belief that you should be promoting your
opportunity first. But, we both know that promoting your PRODUCT first is the way to fill your pocket
books on a long-term basis. (In other trainings that I give I go over in more detail other reasons why
promoting heavily your opportunity is no good for your pocket book.)



And doesn't it just FEEL wrong? Because if you approach somebody with the opportunity to make more
money and fulfill their financial dreams, and you haven't made any significant income yourself, then isn't
it true that you feel incredible pressure to at least LOOK like your rich? So, you end up hiding who you
really are, which actually takes more money money out of your pocket than you actually would be
putting in. Yes, you'll actually be losing money! How so?



Well, did you know that if you simply focus on your product first the way that I show you in my other
trainings, you'll have way more sign-ups in your business? And they'll stick around for the long-run,
because they'll be hooked on your product, which is where your residual checks come from, right? Then,
you can approach these ones with your opportunity. Wouldn't it make sense that they'll be your best
business builders? So, by focusing on the wrong thing (your opportunity), do you see how you'll be
taking out money from your OWN pocket? It's sad, but so many Networkers are doing this. If you are
doing this, stop! It's fake. Be real, and focus on what you know best - your products and services. Lead
with what you have most expertise in, and the money will follow.



Another reason why not being real hurts you is because of something called "The Law of Attraction".
This is a huge thing. And it really exists! What this means is that you will attract those who are like you.
There are thousands even millions of people who would relate to you, if they just knew YOU- Yes, YOU!
Not who you would like to be, or some fabricated version of you; but the real you.



The importance of following this law is clearly seen when it comes to marriage, for example. When a
person is trying to be somebody he's not just to attract someone of the opposite sex, that person may
end up falling in "love" with someone who isn't who they think they are. And they usually don't find out
until after they say "I do". This is probably a big factor to the huge divorce rate here in the United States.
How much better, then, if that person showed his true colors from the start, then if he did get married,
it would have been to a person who loved them for who THEY are. Does that make sense? A business
relationship is not much different.



In conclusion: be yourself. Be real. Focus on what you know best. And let success come to YOU. I
guarantee you it will, and it will come (for the most part) stress-free.
