The Hawaii Hydrogen Power Park: An Update
This briefing will provide an update on the Hawaii Hydrogen Power Park Project that continues to evolve and expand. Under the overall umbrella of the Power Park, HNEI completed the installation of a PV-Wind-Hydrogen system at Kahua Ranch on the Big Island. The briefing will describe the completed system, initial test results and analysis, and the ideas on how this test site could be used in the future. We shall also describe the latest plans and status for the introduction of a hydrogen fueling station at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (HAVO) on the Big Island. This project has attracted over $4 million in funding for the installation of an electrolyzer-based hydrogen production system, and, initially, three (3) hydrogen-fueled shuttle buses to transport visitors around the park.
