"Caravan park gradings 11"
SALOP LEISURE FIVE STAR MID WALES CARAVAN PARKS CONTINUE TO SET THE STANDARD Immediate: October 14, 2011 Owners of caravan parks in Mid Wales who have invested millions of pounds into making them some of the best in Europe have been praised for exceptional grading results again this year. Tony Bywater, chairman of leading caravan dealership Salop Leisure in Shrewsbury, Machynlleth and Stourport, congratulated the parks for continuing to set such high standards. Their hard work has been recognised with 24 five star gradings from Visit Wales, the tourism arm of the Welsh Government. Visit Wales assessors have been advising park owners of new grading criteria, which is being introduced in 2013. Salop Leisure supplies caravans to many of the five star parks in Mid Wales. Mr Bywater said the parks had not only attracted thousands of tourists to the region but also promoted a positive image of caravanning. “Great credit is due to caravan holiday home and touring park owners and managers for continuing to raise their quality standard year after year,” he added. “This year’s outstanding gradings in Mid Wales show that the industry is not resting on its laurels but continuing to invest in quality for the future “Holiday home owners form Manchester, Liverpool, The Potteries, West Midlands, Shropshire and South Wales regularly tell us that they really appreciate the quality and spectacular scenery offered by caravan parks in Mid Wales. They demand home from home luxury and that’s exactly what they get. (Cont) (Cont….2) “We are confident that demand for caravan holiday homes is going to continue for the next 10 years, as more people of all ages opt to spend quality time with their families. As this year has demonstrated, thousands more people have opted to holiday in the UK rather than going abroad. “The beauty of modern caravan holiday homes is that they can be used for most of the year, come rain or shine, because they are double glazed, have central heating and offer luxury accommodation.” Mid Wales Tourism’s chief executive Val Hawkins congratulated all the parks for maintaining and improving their high standards, adding that their grading success was richly deserved. “We are fortunate in Mid Wales to have some of the finest caravan parks in the UK, which remain a cornerstone of the region’s tourism industry,” she said.
