					Dear Parents and Families,
Thank you for your help and support with the Mystery Bag. Each
child had a turn to bring the Mystery Bag home once and we will
continue the rotation with a different focus each time your child
brings it home. The next time it appears in your child’s backpack,
your child will need to find an object that begins with the same
sound as his or her name. I will include the instructions in the
front of the book. I know the children really look forward to their
turn.
Next week will will also start a new routine. Each child will have
an opportunity to bring home Teddy Travel Bear. Teddy will come
home with one child each Friday to spend the weekend with him or
her. Teddy will have an opportunity to visit every family in our
class. He will come with his backpack filled with stories to read, a
journal to keep track of his adventures, a camera to take a few
pictures to add to his scrapbook, and interactive activities to
promote oral language and comprehension skills. Teddy Travel
Bear will need to return to school on Monday morning.
If you have any questions or concerns about participating, please
let me know. I know the children will be just as excited to bring
Teddy home to visit you as they are to bring home the Mystery
Bag.

Thanks again for your involvement and support!

Love,
Ms. Shapiro

Dear Parents and Families,

I would like to introduce you to Teddy Travel Bear! Teddy has brought his
backpack filled with stories to read, a journal to keep track of his
adventures, a camera to take 2 pictures to add to his scrapbook, and
interactive activities to promote oral language and comprehension skills.
Teddy Travel Bear will need to return to school on Monday morning.

Here are some rules to consider during Teddy’s visit:

1. Please keep Teddy clean. If his clothes become dirty, you may wash
them. Please don’t get Teddy wet.

2. Please keep him away from dogs and cats. Animals do not know how
to take care of him.

3. Please remind your child to keep him in a safe place. We don’t want
to loose him, ever!

Teddy enjoys going to the movies, restaurants, museums, out of town, or
any place that our parents feel appropriate. Please keep track of his
adventures using his journal. Also, you may take two photos of Teddy
and your child with the enclosed camera. I have also included activities to
that go along with the delightful story Ira Sleeps Over. As you explore
the story together, the questions will encourage you to talk the story
over, share ideas, laugh, and ask questions. There are no wrong answers,
just encourage your child to talk about his or her ideas!

Please take a few moments to fill out the feedback form at the end of
the weekend. I really appreciate your comments!

Have fun working together!
Love,
Ms. Shapiro
