April 20, 2012 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Back- to-School Walk-In Immunization Clinic Scheduled Blackfoot – To help parents prepare for back to school immunization requirements, Southeastern Idaho Public Health (SIPH) will be holding a back-to-school walk-in immunization clinic on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 in the Blackfoot office located at 326 Poplar. Legally, in order to enter kindergarten, children born after September 1, 2005 must have a minimum of 5 DTaP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis), 4 Polio, 2 MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella), 3 Hepatitis B, 2 Varicella (Chickenpox), and 2 Hepatitis A immunizations. Legally, in order to enter 7th grade, children are required to have 1 Tdap and 1 Meningococcal immunization, in addition to school entry requirements that are based on when the child was born. No child will be denied routine vaccinations based on the inability to pay. Parents are requested to bring their child’s up-to-date immunization record, insurance card, and coverage information with them to the clinics.
