SUMMARY
The Customer Service Representative will manage the accounts assigned to him/her, maintain day to day
contact, assist with claims issues, and coordinate renewals.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Answer incoming calls and assist clients with policy questions, billing and claims issues
• Employ sound judgment and customer service knowledge to resolve difficult claims issues in a timely
manner
• Generate quotes for prospective clients using the carrier’s or the company’s internal quoting system
• Ensure customer retention by providing excellent client service experience through always being
knowledgeable and having a professional attitude
• Diversify the accounts of current clients by identifying their need for other insurance products, by assisting
to find the right solution and closing the sale
• Obtain in‐depth knowledge of each carrier and their products, and have a thorough understanding of their
underwriting process
• Obtain in‐depth understanding of Roper Insurance and Financial Services’ customer service methodology
• Develop a good working relationships with each carrier’s representative and broker assistance program
• Develop a “referral” process for your customers and manage on a regular basis
• Occasionally meet with clients to present and explain proposed or new benefits package
• Perform clerical duties to assist the sales process and incoming service requests
• Perform follow up activities as required by the company’s CSR Methodology to manage existing customer
base
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in customer service environment (2-5 years)
• Knowledge of the health and life insurance industry is preferred
• Ability to multi‐task and prioritize effectively
• Ability to manage large quantity of incoming calls
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as health plan descriptions
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
• Ability to analyze data, provide explanations and make recommendations
• Ability to conduct presentations in front of small groups is considered a plus
• Efficiency and detail orientation with data entry
• Friendly, empathetic, positive attitude, responsibility and team player attitude
• High level computer literacy (Microsoft programs, especially Excel)
• Knowledge of Spanish is considered an asset
• Availability to work on location during regular office hours:
8:30am‐5pm Monday – Thursday, and 8:30am‐4pm on Friday
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Must have Colorado Insurance Producer License or be willing to obtain it within 30 days
