Systems Requirements Report

Major IT Resources Necessary
The following is a list of the major IT Resources necessary to achieve Jaworth Furniture Inc.’s
ten goals.

Network Servers:
All six of the company’s servers will be replaced by a Dell PowerEdge T710, which JIBA
Consulting has designed to specifically meet the needs of Jaworth Furniture Inc. JIBA
Consulting chose this server because it meets the company’s current needs and is scalable to
grow Jaworth in the future. The competitive price tag of only $5,581 each is also an admirable
feature. The following is a brief summary of the custom designed Dell PowerEdge T710:

Each Dell PowerEdge T710 is a tower chassis which features a single Intel Xeon 2.13 GHz
processor with a 4 M cache and a maximum memory of 800 MHz. The T710 comes standard
with 4 GB ( 2 x 2GB) of memory, but replacement Memory Modules of up to 8 GB are
available. Each server has an 1100 W redundant power supply with an additional 1920 W /120 V
uninterruptible power supply, which will protect against data loss and system damage during
power outages. There are two 250GB, 7.2K RPM, SATA, 3.5" Hot Plug Hard Drives configured
as a RAID 1 system, and an Intel Gigabit ET NIC, Quad Port, Copper, PCIe-4 network adapter.
Each server will run Microsoft Small Business Server 2008, Standard Edition with Media, which
is completely compatible with Microsoft Server 2003. A detailed list of all the features available
with the T710 begins on appendix page 22.

Network Attached Storage
In order to prevent data loss, JIBA Consulting has customized a network attached storage device
for Jaworth Furniture Inc. The Dell PowerVault NF600 is a custom designed tower chassis with
a Dual Core Intel Xeon 1.86 GHz 1066 MHz processor with 6 MB cache, tape backup software,
1.44 MB Internal Floppy Drive, CD/DVD Drive, 2 GB 667 MHz of memory, PERC 6/i
Integrated Controller Card, and two 146 GB 15 K RPM Serial-Attach SCSI 3 Gbps 3.5 inch
HotPlug Hard Drives. There are many other features available with this NAS; a complete listing
is available on page 25 of the appendix.

Switches
The new system will be tied together with PowerConnect 5448 switches. Each switch features 48
ports for maximum connectivity and scalability. There is also an external redundant power
supply capable of powering up to four switches. A complete specification sheet is available for
review on page 27 of the appendix.

Printers
All of Jaworth Furniture Inc.’s printers will be upgraded with the rest of the company’s
equipment. In order to save money, two different types of printers will be installed throughout
the company. The printers in the Administrative/IT Building, Manufacturing Building, Saginaw
Office, and Accounting Office will each be replaced with a high powered all-in-one
printer/copier/fax machine.
The CEO, COO, CHRO, Marketing Director, Sales Director, Chief Designer, Director of Online
Operations, Executive Administrative Assistant, and the Design Office will each receive a
smaller all-in-one printer that will meet their needs for less cost than a larger higher powered,
higher capacity model.
The following is a brief description of the specifications of each printer. The complete list of
specifications and capabilities for each printer is available on pages 28-33 of the appendix.

Large Printer Specifications
The high powered all-in-one printer is a Lexmark X651de Multifunction Laser Printer. The
X651de provides rapid printing and copying at speeds as fast as 45 ppm, high-quality scanning in
monochrome and color, a maximum media capacity of 3200 sheets, maximum printing
resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi, and is compatible with both Windows XP and Windows 7.

Small Printer Specifications
The Dell V715 All-in-One Wireless Printer is the perfect solution for those employees at Jaworth
Furniture Inc. who need professional image quality. The V715 has a maximum print speed of up
to 33 ppm, supports a plethora of memory cards, and has a print resolution of up to 4800 x 1200
dpi. This printer will be available wirelessly with a WAP54G Wireless-G Access Point.

Connectivity Upgrades
By taking advantage of the bundle services offered by Charter Communications, Jaworth
Furniture Inc. can greatly increase the connection speed of its Saginaw Office. Charter
Communication Services are scalable to grow with the future needs of Jaworth Furniture Inc.’s
Saginaw Office. The bundle that JIBA Consulting has put together for Jaworth includes
telephone service, unlimited long distance, 10 M internet access, Non-Custom Web-Hosting, and
3-Day Data Backup 2 GB. A complete breakdown of these services is available on pages 35-37
of the appendix.

Jaworth Furniture Inc.’s sales team can improve their internet access by taking advantage of
Verizon Wireless’ Mobile Broadband Connect Plan. Sales people can use their company
provided smart phones to connect their laptops to Verizon’s Broadband Network for only $15 a
month. The network would give them broad access to 5 GB of data usage for internet access
while on the road. For a map of the Verizon Wireless coverage area please see page 37 of the
appendix.

Because the IT Personnel are going to be expanding their system requirements to meet the needs
of a Jaworth’ expanding business, their computing needs will increase as well. To meet these
needs, they require a larger Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0 GHz, with a 6 M Level 2 cache, 500 GB Serial
ATA HD with DataBurst Cache, 512 MB ATI Radeon HD video card, and 1 year of Certified
Data Destruction to limit data loss liability. The other components of the IT Personnel’s’
computers do not deviate from the standardized model. For a complete listing of the
specifications for the standardized computer model please reference page 40-42 of the appendix.

Laptops
The sales people in the Saginaw Office of Jaworth Furniture Inc. will be receiving new laptops.
JIBA Consulting suggests purchasing a total of eight laptops for the six sales people. The very
nature of a traveling computer suggests a high possibility for loss, damage or destruction. It is
with this in mind, that JIBA Consulting also custom designed the laptops to include one year of
CompleteCare Accidental Damage Protection. JIBA Consulting has taken further steps to protect
Jaworth Furniture Inc.’s investment by selecting laptops with Internal Swipe Fingerprint Reading
Technology.

To meet the mobile demands of Jaworth’s sales team JIBA Consulting custom designed a Dell
Workstation M6400 with an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53 GHz processor with 3 M Level 2 Cache, 1066
MHz, 2 GB of memory, 80 GB Hard Drive at 5400 RPM. The M6400 features a 17 inch LCD
display, 8X DVD, Intel WiFi Link Draft Mini Card, internal backlit keyboard, and is Bluetooth
ready. The laptops also have a built in web-cam for video conferencing. For a complete listing of
the specifications for the laptop please reference page 43-44 of the appendix.
