Overview
Accounting has long been considered the language of business. Accounting is a fast-paced, exciting, and high profile profession. Students who major in accounting develop their business skills through a rigorous education process. An accounting professional is an integral part of any management team and is sought out for his/her advice and knowledge in many areas, including forensic and fraud investigation, tax and assurance services, financial reporting, and ethical business practices. Career opportunities abound for the accounting graduates. Accounting professionals work in public accounting firms, private corporate firms, the not-for-profit sector, and government, specifically the SEC the FBI and the IRS, in both compliance and criminal investigation. The knowledge and skills you will develop as an accounting professional will help you rise to the highest level in your particular organization.
