Print this sheet so you can refer to it as you learn how to use the worksheets.

General Information
1 Fields with dashes ( - ) are formula fields. Do not change or function of sheet will be invalidated.
2 As a safeguard against accidental format or formula changes, all of these worksheets have been protected.
If it is necessary to change a formula you can "unprotect" the sheet by selecting "Tools" then
"Protection" and "Unprotect Sheet." It is recommended you re-protect the worksheet after changes.
3 Since the sheet is protected, you can navigate from cell to cell by pressing the "Tab" key. You can return
to a previous cell by holding down the "Shift" key and then pressing "Tab."

Income & Expenses (Budget)
1 Click on Budget tab in lower left to select worksheet.
2 Enter Name in Cell M1. (It will automatically replicate on all other worksheets.) Then, press "Tab."
3 Pressing "Tab" will take you to a label cell, then a green shaded \$\$ entry field, and then to a blank cell (for
any brief notation entry).
4 Make entries as noted. Skip non-applicable cells. Change cell labels as appropriate.
5 For annual or semi-annual expenses such as Vacation, Christmas Gifts, Car Insurance, etc., enter a
monthly budget figure. You can have Excel calculate this amount for you as follows. Begin cell entry with
"=" followed by annual amount divided by 12. Example: =1000/12, press "Tab" or "Enter" to complete
calculation. Cell will show monthly amount of 83.33.
6 Be sure to enter paycheck deductions in the appropriate categories.
7 NOTE: Worksheet automatically calculates catergory subtotals, the percent each category is of the Net
Spendable Income, and compares Total Expenses to Net Spendable Income .

Allocations Sheet
1 Click on allocations tab in lower left to select worksheet.
This worksheet helps you allocate each paycheck to cover the items in your monthly budget. It will adapt
to a monthly, bi-monthly or bi-weekly pay cycle. Extra Check 1 & 2 are for those months you receive 3
bi-weekly checks in a month.
2 Enter Gross Income in "green" shaded field in dollars and cents (e.g., \$1245.90).
Enter Tithe and Taxes… Net Spendable will automatically calculate. NOTE: This will not be the same as

7 As you scroll down the list, the summary section at top of worksheet remains frozen so you always see
total allocations and remaining balance.

Balances Sheet
1 Click on Balances tab in lower left to select Category Balances worksheet.
This worksheet helps you track expenses as they occur so you know how much money is left to spend in
each category.
2 Most often tracked categories are already listed. You can change categories heading as needed.
3 Enter Category \$\$ Allocation in "green" shaded field in dollars and cents (e.g., \$1245.90).
4 Enter Spent \$\$ in expense section. Total expenses will autosum in "red" shaded area.
5 Remaining Category balance ("yellow" cell) auto-calculates.

Tips for Using Balances Sheet
1 Each time you allocate more money to a category (ie, you just got paid again), select appropriate "green"
cell, press "=", enter balance amount shown in the "yellow" cell, press "+", enter new \$\$ you are allocating.
Example: =25.50+100.00. When you press enter, the cell will show 125.50 as the new balance.
2 Then delete the column of individual expense amounts for that category to start your expense tracking over.

Financial Statement
1 This sheet summarizes your Assets and Liabilities, autosums each, and calculates Net Worth.
2 Navigation through the worksheet is similar to Income & Expenses.

Debt List
1 This is a listing of all debts, including Mortgage, real estate, car loans, credit card debt and other notes.
2 Enter amount owed in dollars and cents beginning with the largest debt to the smallest.
3 The "Payments Left" cell is automatically calculated after "Pay Off Amount" "Monthly Payment" and
"Annual Int. Rate" is entered. Increasing the "Monthly Payment" will decrease the payments left.
4 All debts listed will autosum in the Grand Total cells at the bottom of the worksheets.
5 To total the Credit Card debt, create a formula in the cell and add together the appropriate cells in the
column above. Do this for both the "Pay Off Amount" and the "Monthly Payment."
