We listened to an exciting story about Little Bear and then we were able to look at lots of different science resources which related to dark and light. We were able to use shadow puppets, sit in a special dark tent and use different torches and kaleidoscopes. After that we were able to look around the museum and had lots of fun exploring the Xperiment exhibition. Maybe you are not aware of this but the Museum which is off Deansgate on Liverpool Road is totally free and is open to the public 7 days a week ….have a visit your family will love it ! Year 3s Trip to Helmshore Mill Last week Year 3 spent a day at Helmshore Mill in Rossendale. We are currently learning about ‘Materials and their Properties’ as our Science topic. We left early in the morning and took a 45 minute journey by coach. When we arrived, we divided into groups and took part in activities. All the children were very excited to make felt. Investigating fibres under a microscope made us feel like scientists! We also know why clothes are made from certain fabrics. During the day we took a tour around the Mill to see how cotton is produced using the old, huge and noisy machinery. We all had a fantastic time.
