                                     (Hypertext Preprocessor)


     PHP is a server-side scripting language which is executed on the server and PHP files are
      returned to the browser as plain HTML .
     PHP supports many databases (MySQL, Informix, Oracle, Sybase, Solid, Generic ODBC,
      etc.)
     PHP is an open source software and free to download and use.
     PHP files have a file extension of ".php”.
     PHP runs on different platforms (Windows, Linux, Unix, etc.)



   PHP Original name was “Personal Home Page” Tools and the new
    name was selected by community voting.
   PHP was created in late 1994 by Rasmus Lerdorf, a software
    engineer and Apache team member.

      To Learn PHP We Require:

     Web Server (Apache)
     PHP 5 (Scripting Language Software)
     Database (MySQL)
     Text Editor (Dreamweaver)
     Web Browser

  MySQL:-

     MySQL is a database server.
     Mysql was created in late 1979 by “Monty Widenius”.
     MySQL supports standard SQL commands.
     MySQL compiles on a number of platforms.
     MySQL is free to download and use.

PHP Softwares:-
  1) Appserve:- (Apachi, PHP 5, Mysql, PhpMyAdmin)
  2) Wamp:- (Windows: Apachi, Mysql, PHP)
  3) Lamp :- (Linux Apachi, MySql, PHP)
  4) Xampp:- X-Cross Platforn(windows/Unix/Linux)
                      Apachi, MySql, PHP, PERL


Basic PHP Syntax
A PHP scripting block always with :
<?php    // start tag
---
---
?>       //end tag

Note:
       The php file must have a .php extension and must be saved in root folder WWW in
        Appserv/ wamp. In Xampp (htdoc), In Lamp (root).
       To Run Php File Open Browser, then type the address as: http://localhost/p1.php
