A bicycle brake is used to slow down or stop a bicycle. There have been varied forms of brake used
throughout historical past, and a number of other are still in use today.

Gravity lunatics swear by the fundamental Hayes brake and it is obvious why. The long lever and large
203mm rotor means stonking stopping energy (a 229mm improve is due soon), although the blunt, abrupt
feel means management is learnt, not guaranteed.

The brake's legendary status in the mountains was backed up by glorious efficiency on the dyno, with the
rotor only warping quickly at temperatures you may not often see on the hill. The unique Hayes slotted post
mount makes fitting very easy, and both lever can be run on the left or right. Bedding in is quick, pad life is
lengthy and overall reliability is excellent. Varied improve choices are available and it is not that heavy
either.

For years these brakes were the usual in downhill and freeride. I do not understand how. They're decent
brakes however lack true stopping energy and modulation. I took these off my wifes bike as a result of she
complained they pulsed and release whereas going downhill. I did not imagine her however once they have
been on my bike they did the same thing. I've gotten use to them however they don't have the ability of my
Magura Julies or my Shimano LX's. I might only advocate these in the event that they have been on a very
discounted sale or have been on the bike once I obtained it. Both method I would substitute them with a set
of Julies as soon as I received the $ninety/wheel jensonusa.com wants for them. The fact that these brakes
routinely go for a hundred-one hundred fifty per wheel baffles me. These brakes have not failed me yet.
