The Different Types of Offices in Qatar
Qatar, according to Forbes, is the richest country in the world with 2011 per capita GDP (PPP) of
$103,275. About 60% of the population lives in Doha, the country's capital. There is a scramble for
offices in Qatar because locals have the money and foreigners are looking to tap into the oil and
natural gas wealth in the country. There are different types of offices in the country. It is important that
you know them and their features so that you can make an informed decision based on your business
needs.

You could go for full-time serviced offices. A serviced office is an office that is leased by a company
from the building owner, usually full floors or even entire office buildings, subdivided and then sublet.
These offices are advantageous in that they come fully furnished and equipped with the latest in IT and
telecoms infrastructure. You will get a receptionist and admin support. Your branding and signs will
appear in the office. You will only pay a single fee for rent, services charges, rates, utilities and
insurance.

Another common type of offices in Qatar is shared office. The office layout is open-plan. Different
companies get to work in the office space. All the telecoms and IT infrastructure will be provided. You
only get to pay for the time you spend in the office, meaning you get to save money. This option is
advantageous in that you get to share ideas and to network.

Yet another option is hot desking. This is the ideal option for teams that are always on the move since
you get unparalleled flexibility. The space will be organized to suit your team's specific needs. The
telecoms, IT and admin set-up will be handled by a 3rd party, meaning you can concentrate on running
your business. You will get your signs and branding in the office and you can get extra space for such
things as meetings on request.

The other option is mobile offices. These are usually found close to airports, commuter hubs and
motorways. You will get access to the office while on the road with this option. Another option is
virtual offices in Qatar. As the term suggests, these are offices where tenants only get addresses in
prestigious buildings, but they do not necessarily have actual office space. You can, however, get office
space in the building on request for a fee. This is a good option if you do not need physical office space
but only need a prestigious mailing address. Other options are traditional, executive and home offices.
