2 Introduction
2.1 Purpose of Change Management
The prime purpose of the change management process is to control the scope, costs and schedule of the project. This
is done by implementing a process to monitor and control all proposed changes to the project so that they can formally
be captured, evaluated, and if approved, incorporated into the Project plan. Without this formal level of monitoring and
control, an excessive number of requested changes to the Project plan may be adopted without appropriate impact
analysis on the project. Such situations often result in over-blown budgets and delays to project delivery schedules, or
projects losing sight of the original requirements.
To delete this guidance text box, double click mouse in the left margin then press delete.
2.2 Roles & Responsibilities
All members of the Project team must be aware that only work associated with the approved project scope detailed in
the Project Scope Document is to be undertaken and recorded within the Project budget. Any deviations from this must
only be undertaken after approval by Change Management process (documented below).
Explain who is responsible for co-ordinating changes within the Project.
