Happiness is always granted as long as bad relationships do not destroy it. Why do so many people struggle when it comes to love? Obviously, there are a lot of reasons, but this article can't cover them all. But as with everything else, the problem must be defined. People believe that the mystery of love is too much to understand, so we willingly enter into relationships without the right information. With the romantic achievements of others, the mystery of love can be unravelled, and then maybe we can understand it. The fact is that marriage is not the goal of every relationship. But, if you have plans of matrimony, you can take a look at these 10 features of a happy and worthwhile marriage. 1. Faithfulness Partners must agree on fidelity. Where do each of you stand on the terms of monogamy? You have to know that you can trust your partner and that your partner can trust you too. 2. Work as a Team A divided house can never stand the test of time. Even if your parents are divorced you have to commit to keeping your spouse and your relationship as your top priority. You and your partner form the basis of your own individual household, and to make it work you must function as a team. 3. Joy Joy is often the by-product of a successful partnership. If you don't enjoy being around your partner you'll need to get clear about what is blocking the joy from your relationship. It might be time to evaluate who you are and make sure you haven't outgrown your partner, or have stopped expressing your needs to your mate. 4. Consideration Be aware of the impact of your actions. By being considerate of your spouse he/she will be able to give total support to your dreams and aspirations. A delicate equilibrium exists between support and consideration; do it softly while remaining generous. 5. Raising Children If one does not want to have children, make sure your partner agrees before entering into marriage. If you both agree on having children, make sure you are marrying someone who could be a good parent. Parenting issues that commonly arise and should be discussed before marriage include: discipline, love, support, involvement, diet, and education. You must be able to trust your spouse with the children. 6. Support A clear absence or lack of support during good times is a sure sign of an impending doom. If you can't count on your partner to support one of your dreams every now and then, then maybe you need to reconsider the relationship. Enduring love is always more about who are in the relationship that just the lifestyle of being in a relationship. 7. Financial Compatibility Money is a common cause of marriage breakdown and separation. But, this type of dilemma could be limited by discussing financial issues such as ways of debt payments, credit cards, payment expectations before you marry. Also, make sure that you are both financially capable of contributing to the marriage. 8. Respect and Admiration The belief that both of you are lucky to have each other boosts up your respect and admiration for each other. After all, it has been this that brought you together, so make sure you keep the respect and acknowledgements alive to keep the romance stay strong. 9. Love as an action word Real love is grounded in actions and not mere emotions. Whatever poetry, movies, and songs have defined, it is just a small component of love. The emotional state associated with love is whimsical, but love does its best work as an action word, where each partner constantly works in the best interest of the other. 10. More than just the physical True, physical attraction matters, but we shouldn't interchange physical attraction for love. It is wise to ask yourself about the things that you would love about your partner once the physical attraction fades. After all, youth, as well as beauty is fleeting while the mind and the heart endure. One way of confronting the issue is to simply ask yourself a simple question: "When sex is no longer in the strongest attraction, would you still stick with your partner?" Some relationships crumble because partners change in ways that cannot be discerned. However, most failed marriages are fated to end from the start. These 10 features may not be able to cover everything, but if more people have considered them, possibly fewer marriages would have ended with divorce. Evaluate yourself, your partner, and your relationship before you blindly jump into marriage.
