       Born 27 Nov 1902 in Mystic Iowa; d] 1987 age 85 of Hamilton Grove Retirement
Home at 7:07 a.m. Was a lifelong resident of this city. Services at St Anthony de Padua
Cahtolic Church, bur at St Joseph Cem. She married in Chicago to Stanley Leszczynski
who died 8 Jul 1977. Surviving children are: Mrs. Evelyn Gadacz of Fullerton CA,
Stanley, Frank and John Leszczynski, 25 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

MARGARET BABACZ - MRS NICK KOSINSKI
       Born 29 Jun 1907 Mystic Iowa; d] 25 Jul 1985, age 78 of 1121 E LaSalle. Had
formerly lived in LaPorte IN. Services at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Buried at Patton
Cemetery in La Porte IN. On 20 Apr 1927 married Nick Kosinski who survives. One
son, Arthur Kosinski and a daughter, Mrs. Jean Platz of La Porte IN.

MARY BABACZ [AKA BABICZ] - MRS JOSEPH KRUK
       Born 8 Apr 1900 Mystic Iowa, arrived in South Bend about 1922 and died 11 Feb
1982, age 81 .
Services at St Casimir's Catholic Church, buried at St Joseph Cem. On 24 Feb 1919 she
married Jozef Kruk. Survivors include 2 sons, Frank and Harry Kruk and a daughter Mrs
Henrietta Drabecki.

MRS SOPHIE BABACZ - NEE KZIONEK
         Born 20 Apr 1873 Poland; d] 5 Dec 1933 of 1318 W Grace St. Arrived in the
United States in 1917. Services at St. Casimir's Catholic Church, buried at Cedar Grove
Cemetery. Surviving five daughters are Mrs. Mary Kruk, Mrs. Rose Morris, Mrs
Florence Leszczynski, Mrs. Margaret Kosinski, Mrs Catharine Zoludow and also two
sons, Frank and Stanley Babacz.

STELLA BABACZ - MRS ALEX AUGUSTYNIAK - N CHGED TO AUGUSTIN
          Born 25 Apr 1898; d] 4 Apr 1981, age 82 of 26132 State Rd 2, at the Carlyle
Nursing Home. Services at Holy Family Catholic Church, buried in the St Joseph
Mausoleum at St Joseph Cemetery. On 21 May 1916 in Gary IN she married Alex
Augustin who survives.

MRS MARY BABINSKI - NEE SOBIERALSKI
       Born 14 Dec 1894; d] 22 Apr 1980, age 85 at 6:40 p.m. Tues. at St Joseph
Hospital. Had been ill for two months. Previously employed at Wilson Brothers Shirt
Factory. Services held at St Adalbert's Catholic Church, buried at St Joseph Cem.
Children are Catharine and John Babinski. Her family includes 4 sisters, Mrs Anna
Frydrych Szymanski, Mrs. Jean Golubski, Mrs Pearl Zakowski of Jackson MI and Sister
Mary Helen of the Felician Sisters of Lavonia Mich. Also five brothers: William,
Joseph, Leon and Theodore of South Bend and Edward Sobieralski of Niles MI.


STANISLAUS J BABINSKI
         Born 3 May 1889 Wieprz, Poland; d] 16 Jan 1982, age 92 of 1213 W Grace, the
home of his daughter Virginia after a brief illness. He lived in So Bend for 68 years, and
was retired from Studebaker Corp. Services at St Casimir's Catholic Church, buried at St
Joseph Cem. On 10 Jul 1916 he married BLANCHE BLASZCZAK, who died in 1945.
Children are; Mrs. Mary Nawrocki, Mrs Bernice Zwierzynski, both of So Bend and Mrs.
Virginia Galeziewski with whom he lives. One son, Thaddeus Babinski.

FRANCISZKA BACZKIEWICZ [AKA BONCZKIEWICZ] * MRS JOHN G
CYBULSKI
       Born 13 Oct 1884 Poland; d] 22 Aug 1959. Buried at St Joseph Cem. On 8 Oct
1907 she married JOHN C CYBULSKI [AKA JAN CEBULSKI]. Survivors are 2
daughters, Mrs Kinga Brenda and Mrs Joan Cymbala and two sons, Casimir Cybulski
and Theodore Cebulski.

KUNEGUNDA BACZKIEWICZ - MRS JOHN EDWARD REMS [AKA
REMBLEWSKI]
         Born 3 Mar 1884 Zagorow Poland, and died in Chicago. She married 28 Mar
1910 to JOHN REMS, the son of Julian Rems and Cecelia Burchacinski. The family
changed their name from REMBLEWSKI TO REMS in France. The husband was
cremated and buried at Sumption Prairie Cemetery.
[The information given to us from Mrs. Wanda Sriver a family member. Children are:

1929 she married FRANK DEMBINSKI who died 27 May 1980 in Sun City California.
One son, Nicholas Dembinski.

NIKODEM BADOWSKI
         Born Mar 1884 Poland; died 27 Apr 1947. He arrived in USA 22 Jan 1901 and
was the owner of Badowski's Bakery at 720 S Chapin St for many years. Buried at St
Joseph Cem. On 6 Aug 1907 mar ANN JANKOWSKI. Children are: Wanda A,
Anthony, Nick Jr of Huntington Beach CA, Mrs Hattie Dembinski, Harry E Badowski,
Mrs Sophie Konieczny, Mrs Irene Sales, Mrs Alice Marciniak and Mrs Angie Byer of
Knox IN.

after a long illness. Retired owner and baker of Chapin Bakery. Services at Christ the
King Catholic Churc, bur St Joseph Cem. Married STEPHANIE [STELLA] FUJAWA.
Children: Mrs Nancy Filbert of Lafayette CA and Gladys Badowski of Dayton OH.

JOAN BADUR
        b] 3 Apr 1930; d] 27 Apr 1980, age 50 of 2416 Prast Blvd, early Sunday at the
Imperial Hotel in Las Vegas Nev where she was on vacation. Had apparently suffered a
heart attack. Had been employed at Bendix Corp for 25 years. Services at St Stanislaus
Catholic Church, bur St Joseph Cemetery. Survivors are 2 borthers Eugene Badur of
Chicago and Richard Badur of Wood Wisc, and a sister Mrs Phyllis Csenar of So Bend.
Two stepbrothers, Eugene and Richard Goralski and a step sister Mrs Esther Goralczyk.

MRS JOSEPHINE BADUR - NEE BARTOSZEK
       b] 1872 Poland; d] 24 Jan 1933, age 60 at 10:30 tuesday after a long illness. She
came to the States in 1883. Buried at Cedar Grove Cem. Survivors include a bother
Wladyslaw Bartoszek and two sisters, Mrs Constancia Przymusinski of Hammond IN and
Mrs Veronica Palicki [LISTED AS CALUKI IN OBIT], of Chicago IL.

MRS BARBARA BAGARUS - NEE KERTESZ/KURTES
       b] 25 Dec 1892 [husband's NI lists 26 Sept 1892 Kapwar Hungary; d] 17 Aug
1947, age 55. She came to the States in 1908. bur Cedar Grove Cem Sec B. On 4 Feb
1913 she married GEORGE BAGARUS, who survives. Children: Anna, Louis, Helen,
Gizella, Elizabeth and George Bagarus

STEVE BAGARUS
         Born 19 Jun 1919; d] 16 Oct 1981, age 62 of Gaithersburg MD, formerly of SBd.
Had been ill for 5 mon. Employed as a salesman for King Pontiac of MD, and had lived
in So Bend until 1945. He spent 5 years in the US Army. Was drafted by the
Washington Redskins Professional football team. Dubbed by the Associated Press in
1945 as "Bugsy" Bagarus the "Muscled Sinatra of the Gridiron", alluding to his
popularity with fans. His speed and agility made him an overnight sensation as a pass
receiver until a broken leg in 1947 slowed him down bringing his career to a close in
1949. He graduated from Washington High Schoo and the University of Notre Dame
before going to the former San Diego Bombers, the Washington Redskins and the Los
Angeles Rams from 1945 to 1949. In 1946 he married ANN FILCHAK in San Diego
CA. Children: Mrs Patricia Boren of San Diego CA, Mary Robin and Ronald Bagarus of
Germantown MD, and Gary Bagarus of Grenada Hills Ca. Also surviving are his
sisters, Mrs Ella Barkovich of San Diego CA, Mrs Rose Zwierzynski and Mrs Julie
Dobrzykowski of So Bend and 3 brothers, Louis, Julius and Richard Bagarus also of So
Bend.

       Died 7 Jan 1907 of apoplexy, had been ill several days. Enlisted in the 21st
Indiana Btty; served 3 years in the Civil War. Battles include: Hoovers Gap,
Chickamauga, Mission Ridge, Franklin and Nashville.

BENEDICT S BAJDEK
       Born16 Jun 1919; d] 22 Dec 1981 age 62 of 1838 N Huey St. He died at 4:25
p.m. Tuesday having been ill for 3 mon. He retired in 1967 from the So Bend Fire Dept
and had worked for Mike Bajdek's Mobil Station. Services at St Stanislaus Catholic
Church, burial at St Joseph Cem. In California he married ESTHER KRZYZANIAK
on 9 Aug 1943. She survivives along with 5 sons: Patrick of Denver Colorado, Thomas
& John Bajdek of So Bend, James of Mishawaka IN and Michael Bajdek of Wyoming
MI. Also two sisters, Mrs Irene Miller and Mrs Virginia Herek, and a brother Michael
Bajdek, all of South Bend.

MRS ESTHER BAJDEK - NEE KRZYZANIAK
       Born 31 Jan 1919; d] 11 Sept 1982 age 63, unexpectedly at 7 p.m. in Denver
Colorado while visiting her son Patrick Bajdek. Had been employed at Notre Dame
University for 10 years. Services at St Stanislaus Catholic Church, burial at St Joseph
Cem. [SEE OBIT ABOVE * BENEDICT BAJDEK* for listing for 5 sons. Survivors
include one sister Mrs Valarie Wagner and a brother, Bert Krzyzaniak Jr both of So
Bend.

ALVIN C BAJER
         Born 18 Feb 1910; d] 2 Mar 1981, age 71 of 1358 W Fisher, after a lengthy
illness. Was employed at Weldcraft Corp. Services held at St Casimir Catholic Church,
and burial at St Joseph Cemetery. On 15 Sept 1934 he married EDWINA MILEWSKI
who died 9 May 1979. Survivors are tow sons, Robert and Alvin Bajer of So Bend, and
a sister, Mrs Ann Bajer of Dundee Fla.

ANN BAJER
        Born 3 Sept 1907; d] 3 Feb 1985, age 77 of Dundee Fla, formerly of SBd. She
died at 5:20 a.m. Sunday at Winter Haven Fla. Had retired from Oliver Corp and moved
to Florida 3 years ago. Surviving are two nephews, Robert and Alvin Bajer. Services
held at St Adalbert's Catholic Church, and burial at St Joseph Cemetery. She was a
member of St Ann's Catolic Church in Haines City Fla.

LAWRENCE CHELMINIAK [AKA WAWRZYNIEC HELMINIAK] . Children are:

Holy Family Cahtolic Church, burial at Southlawn Cem. On 26 Aug 1961 he married M
EVELYN KUJAWSKI who survives. Children: Tamara N and Kimberly A Baker. One
sister, Mrs Candice L Snyder of Claypool IN, a borther Richard M Baker of New Carlisle
IN and his maternal gradmother, Mrs Mayme H McKean of Woodson IL.

Hospital. Retired from Borden's Co. Services at Little Flower Catholic Church, buried at
St Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger IN. On 31 Aug 1932 mar ELIZABETH
ELIAS, who survives. Children are a daughter, Mrs Mary B Kruger, and three sons:
Emery R Balasa of San Diego CA, David Balasa of Chicago IL, and Phillip Balasa of
Ayers Mass. Fifteen grandchildren and four sisters: Mrs Helen Kitkouski, Mrs Katherine
Keresytes, Ann Balasa and Mrs Dorothy Heney.

Home after an extended illness. On 15 Jun 1915 mar JULIAN B BALCZERZAK,
who survives. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs Alice Zimmerman of Louisville KY
and Mrs Irene Henderson of South Bend. A son, Stanley Balczerzak of So Bend , three
sisters : Mrs Josephine Zarembka, Rozalia Piechorowki and Mrs Frances Tarwacki and
four brothers. Leo, Julius, Ludwik and Stanislaw Piechorowski all of S Bd.

Marion IN. Buried at St Joseph Cem. Veteran of WW II. Children include a son,
Gregory Smudzinski and two daughters, Mrs Sandra Whesmar and Lonnie Smudzinski.
Vincent leaves a sister and brother, ALice & Walter Smudinski.
