Alleviated the symptoms of colds There is no cure for the common cold, but there are things you can do until you feel better when the immune system fight viruses. Provides the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases these suggestions: - Rest in bed. - Drink plenty of fluids. - To help relieve sore throat lozenges to use, or allocated to the throat spray, or gargle with warm salt water. - To relieve stuffy nose: the use of a nasal spray made up of salt water, or use medications to remove the congestion. - Clean the nose with creams containing extracts of peppermint. - Take acetaminophen or aspirin to help in the removal of fever and headache. Do not give aspirin to children under the age of 13.
