2.   ROLE CONTEXT

Role Summary            The Housing Connect Officer (EquityStart) is a role within Sales and Acquisitions, Asset Services and is
                        accountable to the Contracts Manager for:
                             providing client focused housing sales and housing related services.
                             providing a point of contact for sales services, communications and information between tenants,
                              Housing SA and HomeStart Finance.
Reporting/Working            Contracts Manager (direct manager).
Relationships
                             Directors and Senior Managers across DFC.
                             Staff within Asset Services.
                             Staff within Housing Services.
                             HomeStart Finance.
                             Housing SA clients and members of the general public.
Special Conditions           Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a Background Screening and National
                              Criminal History Record Check (NCHRC) prior to being employed and every three years.
                             Some out of hours work may be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES          RELATED TASKS

Customer Service &               Provide information and advice to Housing SA tenants regarding the purchase of Housing
Relationships                     SA properties and the HomeStart Finance EquityStart home loan product.
                                 Refer clients to HomeStart Finance Officers for financial advice where applicable.
                                 Effectively communicate with Housing SA appointed Real Estate Agents.
                                 Regularly review activities and provide recommendations to meet client service
                                  requirements.
                                 Identify new ways of promoting the EquityStart home loan product as well as assisting in
                                  the presentation of the product to stakeholders.
Monitoring & Reporting           Identify barriers, delays, discrepancies and follow through to address them to achieve
                                  successful outcomes.
                                 Assist in the collation of information for regular reporting to key stakeholders.
                                 Work closely with other team members and HomeStart Finance Officers, sharing
                                  information, advice and support.
                                 Evaluate effectiveness against set performance indicators.
                                 Assist in the preparation of reports and analysis of statistical reports regarding client
                                  enquiries and the Equity Start Program, including performance indicators.
Administrative Support           Respond to Housing Appeals and Ministerial enquiries related to EquityStart.
                                 Undertake checking and data entry of all information relating to clients on mainframe
                                  systems and the EquityStart database.
                                 Participate in and assist with the organising of meetings with stakeholders and external
                                  clients.
                                 Provide support to Contract Officers in the processing of sales to Housing SA tenants
                                  including property listing details and the ordering of Structural Reports and valuations.

                                  working environment, as well as follow procedures to manage and minimise risks within the
                                  DFC.

1    Real Estate Knowledge – demonstrate knowledge of real estate process and how the processes relate to social housing
     clients.
2    Real Estate and Contract Experience – utilise experience in dealing with real estate contracts and property valuations.
3    Attention to Detail – check accuracy of information, follow procedures and processes to avoid errors and take corrective action
     to minimise mistakes and notify others when appropriate.
4    Autonomy – ability to work unsupervised, handle high volumes of work, to use initiative, organise priorities and meet deadlines.
5    Information Technology Knowledge Base – utilise knowledge of key computer systems and adapt to changes in technology
     and systems.
