-All Originate on the Ischium bone of
  the pelvis
The semimembranosus is a muscle in the back of the thigh. It is the most medial of the three hamstring muscles.

                        Inserts: Tibia
The semitendinosus is a muscle in the back of the thigh; it is one of the hamstrings.

                        Inserts: Tibia
