     Part III
 The Sacrifices
  Five basic offerings
      Lev. 1 - BURNT
      Lev. 2 - MEAT/MEAL
      Lev. 3 - PEACE/FELLOWSHIP
      Lev. 4 - SIN
      Lev. 5:15 - TRESPASS
Two
Classes
of
Offerings
Reparation - Repair damaged
 relationship with God.
Consecration - Advance the
 life of the worshipper.
Two Classes
of Offerings
 Reparation -
 Repaired
 damaged
 relationship with God.
  SIN - personal/private/on my
   own land!
  TRESPASS - involves sin
   damage to another! .
Second Class of Offerings
 .
 Consecration - Advanced the
     life of the worshipper.
      BURNT
      MEAT/MEAL/GRAIN
      PEACE/FELLOWSHIP
Amos and Sacrifice ...

 22 Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your
meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I
regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
 23 Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs;
for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.
 24 But let judgment run down as waters, and
righteousness as a mighty stream. Amos 5
       What offerings are missing?
 They are offering sacrifices of
  CONSECRATION ….
 But they are ignoring offerings of REPARATION
    - Repentance and broknessness, contrition of heart
    …
 CONSECRATION MEANS NOTHING!
…Apart from genuine repentance and honest
  confession before God …
 Consecration follows repentance ...
Two Classes of Offerings
 Reparation - Repair damaged
  relationship with God.
       ROMANS
    SIN 1-8
    TRESPASS . 9 - 11
 Consecration - Advance
  the life of the worshipper.
    BURNT 12:1 - 2
    MEAT/MEAL/GRAIN 12:3 - 8
    PEACE/FELLOWSHIP 12:9 - f
 Principle One
 A Place of Death
   Sacrifices call the death
    of three things …
      • Sin - the sin offering
 Also, the trespass offering calls for restitution of wrongs
associated with the life of sin.
      • Self - the burnt offering
 An act of total consecration
      • Division - the peace/fellowship offering
 Unity was the first thing disrupted by Lucifer’s sin, and
reconciliation to God (vertical) and to man (horizontal) are
represents a completion of work at the altar.
 Altar Progression
   Deal with SIN
    Get right with God
       • HOLINESS OF HEART
           OUT OF REPENTANCE
   Deal with SELF
      Stop living for self
        WHOLE-LIFE CONSECRATION FOCUSED ON
           LIFE MISSION & PURPOSE
   Deal with RELATIONSHIPS …
      Get right with others
       • HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS RESULTING IN
           RECONCILIATION & FORGIVENESS - The
           Intrapersonal experience translated into interpersonal
           relationships
Principle Two
 Sacrifice Draws
   the Fire of God
   Leviticus 9:24
And the fire of the Lord came out from
before the Lord and consumed the burnt
offering and the fat on the altar. When all
the people saw it, they shouted and fell on
    their faces.
Principle Three
 Don’t Let the Fire
  Go Out on the Altar
  of Sacrifice
    The fire on the
     altar was “to ever
be burning” - it was never to go out.
  Leviticus 6:13
A fire shall always be burning on
the altar, it shall never go out.
Principle Four
 Days Begin and End
   At the Altar
  Every morning &
   evening demanded
   a new burnt offering
as a sacrifice for the nation.
  Exodus 29:38
Now this is what you shall offer on the altar:
two lambs of the first year, day by day
continually. One lamb you shall offer in the
morning, and the other lamb you shall offer at
   twilight.
Principle Five

Beware of Strange
 Fire
 The firepans transported the “holy fire”
when the tabernacle was in transition
 Fire from the altar of sacrifice (brass
altar) that was required to light the fire
of incense, a type of prayer and worship
   (golden altar)
The Golden Altar
3. The altar is at the head of the
cross, the foot of his glory …

4. The Altar fulfills the Prayer Process
     represented by the Elements
 The Brass Altar  Blood - Redemption
 The Brass Laver  Water - Sanctification

 The Golden Table  Bread - The Word

 The Golden  The Oil - Ministry of

 The Golden Altar
                       Prayer/Worship
The Ingredients - A Word Picture
What kind of prayer reaches God?

 Stacte  Flows spontaneously
 Onycha  Comes from the depths

 Galbanum  That which comes out
                              of brokenness
 Frankincense  That which is pure and
                              sweet, holy and fragrant
The heart of all prayer … is worship!
Incense: A picture of worship ….
Mary took a pound of spikenard, very costly, and
anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her
hair; and the house was filled with the odor of the
                  ointment. John 12:3
 •Costly
 •Broken
 •Poured out - wasted!
 •Offered as a servant … humbly!
 •Transforms the atmosphere with sweetness.

7. The Power of Incense:
What Happens when we
pray?
•God breaks his silence.
•Angels are released.
•Barrenness is broken
•A prophetic voice is prepared -
John!
•Joy and gladness are promised
•Many will turn to the Lord
•Families will be healed
•A people are prepared for a
