The Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO Endorses Seth Williams for District Attorney

Philadelphia-Democratic Candidate for District Attorney Seth Williams has been endorsed by
one of the largest labor unions in the city of Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO is
made up of 120 different labor unions affiliated with the National AFL-CIO, and represents over
100,000 hard working families in the city.

In a letter sent to Mr. Williams, Union President Patrick Eiding says the endorsement was made
“by the Executive Council consisting of leaders from public, private and building trades unions
who truly encompass all of organized labor in the city.” Mr. Eiding goes on to say, “I wish you
all the best on your campaign and I look forward to welcoming you as the new District Attorney
of Philadelphia.”

The Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO’s endorsement is one of the numerous endorsements Seth’s
campaign has received since he announced his candidacy last year. Seth has picked up backing
from the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Tribune, ACORN, Philly for Change, Neighborhood Networks,
Liberty City, the Guardian Civic League, the Fraternal Order of Transit Police and the Fraternal
Order of Police Lodge #5. Seth is also supported by the Black Clergy of Philadelphia and the
Vicinity, more than a dozen former Assistant District Attorneys, 14 state elected officials, the
Fraternal Order of Police Philadelphia Housing Authority and the Transportation Workers Union
Local 234.
