Introduction
This free, on-line personal finance software provides you with the best and easiest way to manage your
money. The application supplies you with tools that allow you to maintain all of your accounts from one
centralized location and can help you create a budget, save for retirement, track investments, analyze
trends and pay off any type of loan. It even analyzes your account data and suggests easy ways for you
to save money each month! You can set up alerts for all of your accounts so you are alerted to any
account activity in a timely manner. Plus, you can access the application from any computer and even
your iPhone or other mobile device.

The application is completely safe and secure, as it operates in a read-only mode. No money can be
moved in either direction from the site.

Home Page
The first time you access the site, the Home page is displayed, as shown in the following illustration.
Helpful links are provided across the top of the page to explain in greater detail the advantages of using
the system.

Creating a New Account
Selecting the Free! Get started here button on the Home page displays the Create New Account screen,
shown below.

Follow these steps to create a new account:

                                                                            1. Enter your email
                                                                               address in the Your
                                                                               Email text field.

                                                                            2. Confirm that email
                                                                               address in the
                                                                               Confirm Email text
                                                                               field.

                                                                            3. Enter your zip code
                                                                               in the Zip Code text
                                                                               field.

                                                                            4. Enter a password for
                                                                               your account in the
                                                                               Password text field.

                                                                            5. Confirm the
                                                                               password you’ve
                                                                               entered in the
                                                                               Confirm Password
                                                                               text field.

    6. Select the Terms of Use check box once you have read and agree to the Terms of Use.

    7. Click Sign Up.

Login Screen
Once you have created an account, you will receive a confirmation email from the system with a link to
the Login screen, shown below.

Follow these steps to log in to the system:

                                                                             1. Enter the email
                                                                                address you created
                                                                                and confirmed during
                                                                                the sign-up process in
                                                                                the Email text field.

                                                                             2. Enter the password
                                                                                you created and
                                                                                confirmed during the
                                                                                sign-up process in the
                                                                                Password text field.

                                                                             3. Select the Remember
                                                                                me on this computer
                                                                                check box to skip this
                                                                                screen when logging in
                                                                                to the application in
                                                                                the future.

4. Select the Log In button to access the application.

Note: Links are provided to direct you to the Create Account screen if you have not already gone
through the process of signing up, as well as a Password Retrieval function if you have already signed up
but have forgotten your password.

Settings Page
Selecting the My Profile link on the Welcome page displays the Settings page, shown below. This page
allows you to adjust your login settings, add additional Email addresses that will receive alerts from the
system and change your password.

Follow these steps to work with the Settings page:

                                                                               1. Verify that the Email
                                                                                  address that is pre-
                                                                                  populated in the Email
                                                                                  address text field is
                                                                                  correct.

                                                                               2. Confirm that the
                                                                                  password you signed
                                                                                  up with is correct by
                                                                                  entering it in the
                                                                                  Confirm Password text
                                                                                  field.

                                                                               3. Add any additional
                                                                                  Email addresses that
                                                                                  system alerts should be
                                                                                  sent to in the Add send
                                                                                  email to text field.

4. If changing your password, enter the old password (the password you want to change) in the Old
   password text field.

5. Enter the new password in the New password text field.

6. Verify the new password by entering it in the Verify new password text field.

7. Select Close to exit this screen.

My Accounts Screen
Selecting the My Accounts link on the Welcome page displays the My Accounts screen, illustrated
below.

Follow these steps to work with the My Accounts screen:

                                                                          1. Enter your bank’s
                                                                             name in the Name text
                                                                             field and click Search.

                                                                          2. Select a bank on the
                                                                             Popular Banks list to
                                                                             generate a search.

                                                                          3. Select Close to exit this
                                                                             screen.

Adding an Account
Selecting Add Account on the Welcome screen displays the first screen in the in the process of adding
an Account, as shown in the illustration below. In our example we have entered Chase in the Account
Name field and clicked Search, which displays the Results list on the right that was returned based on
our search parameter.

Once you have selected your institution, the following screen is displayed. Enter your Username in the
Username text field, your Password in the Password text field and then click Add It to add it to your
account. The following Account types can be added:

        Checking

        Credit Card

        Savings

        Investment

        Loan

        Real Estate

        Vehicle

        Credit Score

        Set up a Budget

Clicking Add It results in the following screen being displayed as the system attempts to connect to your
bank account. Accounts that it finds are displayed in a list at the bottom of the screen along with the
balance of each. You can highlight an account on the Account list and click Update to update it or Delete
to delete that account.

At this point you can chose to add an additional account by typing the institution name in the Name text
field and clicking Search, or you can select I’m Done to exit this screen.




Notice that there are a series of links across the top of this screen. These links provide access to
additional functionality within the system and are explained in the following sections of this document.

Financial
The Financial link directs you to the Add Account screen, described earlier in this document, where you
can add additional accounts to the system.

Real Estate
The Real Estate link displays a screen from which you can get a determination of your home’s present
value, as shown in the following illustration.

Follow these steps to work with this screen:

                                                                            1. Enter the street
                                                                               address for the home
                                                                               in the Street Address
                                                                               text field.

                                                                            2. Enter the Suite/Apt#
                                                                               for the home in the
                                                                               Suite/Apt# text field, if
                                                                               applicable.

                                                                            3. Enter the zip code for
                                                                               the home in the Zip
                                                                               text field.

                                                                            4. Click Search.

                                                                            5. Select the click here
                                                                               link to manually
                                                                               determine a home’s
    value, if desired. The following screen is displayed.

                                                                         6. Select the residence type
                                                                            from the Residence Type
                                                                            drop-down menu.
                                                                            Available options are
                                                                            Primary Residence,
                                                                            Vacation Home,
                                                                            Investment Property and
                                                                            Other.

                                                                         7. Explain how you would
                                                                            like the residence
                                                                            displayed on the site by
                                                                            entering that information
                                                                            in the Display text field.

                                                                         8. Enter the home’s
                                                                            estimated value in the
                                                                            Estimated Value text
                                                                            field.

9. Click Add It!

10. Click Search Again to modify the search criteria you are using and perform a new search.

Other
The Other link allows you to add the following additional account types: Money (or Debt), Vehicle or
Other Property.

Follow these steps to work with this screen:

                                                                           1. Select the Money (or
                                                                              Debt) radio button, and
                                                                              then select the type of
                                                                              financial instrument from
                                                                              the drop-down menu to
                                                                              add that type of account.

                                                                           2. Select the Vehicle radio
                                                                              button, and then select
                                                                              the type of vehicle from
                                                                              the drop-down menu to
                                                                              add that type of account.

                                                                           3. Select the Other Property
                                                                              radio button and select
                                                                              the property type from
                                                                              the drop-down menu.

4. Select Next to continue.

Depending on which radio you’ve selected a Details screen is displayed where you can enter the details
for this new account. Simply enter a name in the What would you like to call it? text field, then enter a
value for it in the How much is it Worth text field and then click Add It, as shown in the following three
illustrations.

Settings
The Settings link takes you to the same page described earlier in this document (need to link back to
that page.

Email & Alerts
The Email & Alerts link (this image doesn’t display all of the options because the window scrolls; need
to describe them anyway).

About You
The About You link allows you to enter pertinent personal information to the system, as shown in the
following illustration.

Follow these steps to work with the About You page:

                                                                            Select the age range you fit
                                                                            into from the Age drop-
                                                                            down menu.

                                                                            Select the applicable
                                                                            Gender radio button,
                                                                            either Male or Female.

                                                                            Select the educational level
                                                                            you have achieved from
                                                                            the Education Level drop-
                                                                            down menu.

                                                                            Choose Set Your Credit
                                                                            Score and select one of the
                                                                            radio buttons shown in the
                                                                            illustration below that
                                                                            defines your current credit
                                                                            score.

Select your profession from the Profession drop-down menu.

Select the income range you fit into from the Income Range drop-down menu.

Enter your Zip Code in the Zip Code text field.

Define your living situation by making a selection from the Residential Status drop-down menu.

Define your household size (adults and children) living in the residence from the Household Size drop-
down menus.

Select Close.

Setting Your Credit Score
As noted on the previous page, selecting Set Your Credit Score on the About You page allows you to
redefine, or update, your credit score information within the system.

Follow these steps to work with this screen:

                                                                           1. To visit the
                                                                              FreeCreditReport.com
                                                                              website, select its
                                                                              corresponding Go
                                                                              button, if desired.

                                                                           2. To visit the
                                                                              truecredit.com
                                                                              website, select its
                                                                              corresponding Go
                                                                              button, if desired.

                                                                           3. Select the radio button
                                                                              that matches your
                                                                              credit score and click
                                                                              Okay to exit this
                                                                              screen.




Hide
The Hide link removes this toolbar from view.

Setting up a Budget
The software allows you to set up a budget items for yourself by using the Set a Budget screen, as
shown in the illustration below.

Follow these steps to work with the Set a Budget screen

                                                                           1. Select a budget item
                                                                              Category from the
                                                                              Choose a Category drop-
                                                                              down menu.

                                                                           2. As applicable, select the
                                                                              Every Month, Every Few
                                                                              Months or Once radio
                                                                              button to define how
                                                                              often this budget item
                                                                              will occur.

                                                                           3. Enter the dollar amount
                                                                              for the budget item in
                                                                              the Amount text field
                                                                              and select the Make this
                                                                              budget roll over check
                                                                              box, if necessary.

4. Select Save to save the budget item to the system or select Cancel to exit this screen without saving
   any information you’ve entered.

Managing Categories
The final option on the Choose a Category drop-down menu within the Set a Budget screen is an
Add/Edit Categories link. Selecting it displays the Manage Your Categories screen, shown below.

Follow these steps to work with the Manage Categories screen:

                                                                           1. Select a category on
                                                                              the left-hand Category
                                                                              list to display the
                                                                              application’s
                                                                              corresponding
                                                                              available categories.

                                                                           2. Select Add a new
                                                                              category to display the
                                                                              Add New Category
                                                                              screen, shown in the
                                                                              illustration on the
                                                                              following page.

                                                                           3. Select Okay to exit this
                                                                              screen.

Adding a Category
Selecting Add a new category on the Manage Your Categories screen expands the screen to display a
Your Categories function.

Follow these steps to add a new category:

                                                                         Enter a name for the new
                                                                         category in the Name text
                                                                         field.

                                                                         Select Save It to save the
                                                                         new category to the
                                                                         system.

                                                                         Select Cancel if you do not
                                                                         want to add the new
                                                                         category.

Overview
Once you have set up accounts within the system, the first screen displayed upon log in is the Overview
screen, shown below. This screen contains access to all of your account information in one convenient
location since it is broken down into sections representing the following system modules:

       Accounts

       Trends

       Alerts

       Budgets

       Ways to Save

Follow these steps to work with the Overview screen:

                                                                     1. Select the Update link within
                                                                        the Accounts section to update
                                                                        your accounts.

                                                                     2. Select the Edit link within the
                                                                        Accounts section to display
                                                                        your Account list for editing
                                                                        purposes.

                                                                     3. Select the Cash, Credit Cards
                                                                        Loans, Investments or Property
                                                                        links within the Accounts
                                                                        section to display that
                                                                        individual account.

                                                                     4. Select the Add it Now link
                                                                        within the Accounts section for
                                                                        any of these accounts to add an
                                                                        additional account of that type.

5. Select the Add Account link within the Accounts section to add an additional account to the system.

6. Select the Review Transactions link in the Accounts section to review your individual transactions
   for the account.

7. In the Trends section, hover with your mouse over the Income, Spend and Net columns to display
   the breakdown of the totals for those three columns.

8. In the Alerts section select Change your alerts to modify your alerts settings.

9. In the Alerts section, select Setup mobile delivery to set up your iPhone/smart phone to receive
   your alerts.

10. In the Budget section, select Add Budget to begin the process of creating a budget.

11. In the Budget section, select See All Budgets if you have already created multiple budgets.

12. In the Ways to Save section, select See All Savings to see all of the savings that the system has
    determined for you based on analysis of the data you have entered.

Transactions
Selecting the Review Transactions link on the Overview screen or the Transactions tab at the top of the
page displays the Transaction Details screen, as shown in the illustration below.

Follow these steps to work with the Transaction Details screen:

                                                            1. Select Add another to add another
                                                               account.

                                                            2. Select Edit Multiple to edit multiple
                                                               accounts.

                                                            3. Enter an account name in the Search
                                                               text field and select Search to locate a
                                                               particular account.

                                                            4. In the Accounts section of the page (at
                                                               the left-hand side), select Edit to edit all
                                                               accounts.

                                                            5. Select Edit in the Tags portion of the
                                                               Accounts section to edit the Tags that
                                                               display here.

6. Select a category from the Category drop-down menu to filter the data on the screen to show a
   particular type of transaction.

7. Need to check what’s at the bottom of this screen to see what the options are when you select a
   checkbox for a line on the Transaction list.

8. Select the Show All Transfer for the specified account (at the right-hand side of the page) to display
   all transfers for that particular account.

9. Select Show All Transfer (without an account specified) to show all transfers.

Planning
Selecting the Planning tab from the Overview screen displays the Planning screen, illustrated below.
The information contained within the Welcome to Mint’s Planning tool can be removed for good by
selecting I get it. Don’t show this message again once you’re comfortable that you understand it.

Investments
Selecting the Investments tab from the Overview screen displays the Investments screen, as shown in
the following illustration.

Follow these steps to work with the Investments screen:

                                                             1. Select Add Account to add an
                                                                investment account.

                                                             2. Roll over an old 401K to a new IRA
                                                                by selecting the Do you have an old
                                                                401K link.

                                                             3. Open a new IRA by selecting the Get
                                                                growth & tax benefits link.

                                                             4. Select the Learn More link for one
                                                                of the lines on the Promotion list to
                                                                explore that opportunity.

                                                             5. Compare additional brokerage
                                                                offers by selecting the Ways to Save
                                                                link.

Ways to Save
Selecting the Ways to Save tab from the Overview screen displays the Ways to Save screen, as shown in
the following illustration.

Follow these steps to work with the Ways to Save screen:

                                                                      1. In the Section 1 portion of the
                                                                         screen, enter the monthly
                                                                         amount that you spend on a
                                                                         credit card and what you
                                                                         spend the money on by
                                                                         making a selection from the
                                                                         drop-down lists.

                                                                      2. In the Section 2 portion of the
                                                                         screen, select the Yes or No
                                                                         radio button to indicate
                                                                         whether or not you pay off
                                                                         your credit cards each month.

                                                                      3. In the Section 3 portion of the
                                                                         screen, indicate your credit
                                                                         score by making a selection
                                                                         from the Credit Score drop-
                                                                         down menu.

4. Select the appropriate Reward Type checkbox.

5. Select the appropriate Specialty checkbox.

6. Indicate whether to project your savings over 1, 2 or 3 years.

7. Select an Apply Now link for any credit card on the Credit Card list to apply for a new card.

8. Select one of the navigational links at the bottom of the page to view additional credit card offers.

Email & Alerts
Alerts settings are accessed by selecting the Email and Alerts link, as shown in the following illustration.
The screen is divided into three sections Email Confirmation, Mobile Confirmation and Alert
Confirmation.

Follow these steps to work with the Email & Alerts screen.

                                                                                Modify your Email settings
                                                                                in the Email Confirmation
                                                                                portion of the screen.

                                                                                Create or modify your
                                                                                Mobile settings in the
                                                                                Mobile Confirmation
                                                                                portion of the screen.

                                                                                Modify your Alert settings
                                                                                in the Alert Confirmation
                                                                                portion of the screen.

                                                                                Select Close to exit this
                                                                                screen.

Help Screen (FAQs)
Select the Get Help link displays the Frequently Asked Questions screen, shown below, where you can
get answers to most of the questions that might arise while you are still new to the system.
