Judy, Lou and Mary and their committee welcome you back to the beautiful Hyatt Regency. We are very excited about the great comments we
received about the site following last years’ tournament. We’ve tweaked the schedule, and you’ll be happy to know that there is more space for
the wonderful dinner buffet, and for hospitality. Thank you for helping us to grow!

Food! Food! Food!
There are many convenient places to eat at the tournament:
--The Olive Press is an upscale restaurant at the Hyatt. To accommodate bridge players, in addition to their regular menu, the Olive Press is
offering a buffet for a special price every evening between sessions. This buffet was so successful last year that we’ve asked for, and gotten,
more space this year.
--The Hyatt is offering cash sales for breakfast, lunch, and supper in the playing area.
--There are 2 restaurants in the Landside area of the Airport, an easy walk from the Hyatt Lobby: Nature’s Kitchen Fresh Café and the City of
Bridges Café. Both offer meals at reasonable prices and are open from breakfast through dinner.
--The Robinson area and the University Boulevard area (previously Beers School Road) have over 100 restaurants. Each is a 10-minute drive
from the parking lot. New this year: the highly acclaimed Settler’s Ridge, also in Robinson. Don’t forget, parking is FREE with in-and-out
privileges. There is also a free Shuttle. See below. Pick up a restaurant guide at the Information/Parking desk.
--Overnight guests at the Hyatt may access the restaurants and other businesses in the Airport through a special arrangement between the Hyatt
and TSA. Talk to the front desk if you want to consider this option (warning: you need a photo ID and it takes about 20 minutes to go through
the process, which must be repeated each time you wish to enter the airport. You may not enter the airport after 6 PM but may stay there after
that hour if you are already inside).

Free Shuttle to Restaurants
The Hyatt offers complimentary Shuttle service to overnight guests. You should have received information about this at check-in. The Hotel
plans to have a shuttle run to Robinson Town Center leaving the motor lobby at 5:15 PM and returning from Robinson at 7 PM. Space is
limited so register at the front desk if you wish to use this option

Hospitality Events:
--Newcomer Reception—Free Supper and Expert Hand Analysis! Saturday at 5:30 PM in room 1120.
--Hospitality every evening in 1120
FREE PARKING
It’s easy! It’s free! You may park in any space in Long Term Parking or Extended Term Parking. The Hyatt is IN the long term lot. So in
theory you can park very close. Follow the signs to "Hyatt Parking". Don't be confused because it also says "Valet Parking". It's the same
place. Once you're in the lot, drive toward the Hyatt--that big tall gray building.
If you don’t find a close spot, you may take the parking shuttle to the airport then the people mover to the Hyatt. There is a people mover
available at the end of the long term lot-- a door in the people mover opens into the Hyatt Lobby. Also the parking shuttle runs 24 hours.

Parking spots closest to the playing area are Sections 4 and 6. Sections 1, 3, and 5 are on the other side of the people mover, but are almost as
close. On the weekend the parking places closest to the Hyatt will be reserved for bridge players.

The Motor Lobby of the Hyatt is the place to temporarily park while checking in or the spot to be dropped off for the tournament.

There are handicap-accessible spaces immediately outside the playing area as well as a ramp to the playing area.

The free part: Get a parking validation pass at the Parking/Information desk. Please get your validation pass as you enter the tournament area
to avoid a rush at dinnertime and in the evening. Maryanne McNeirney will also be available in the playing area with passes.

Life Masters and people with interesting stories should give the information to a tournament director or call the Bulletin Office (Room 1119)
after the evening session or after 11 AM. Bulletins will be available at the front 9desk in the lobby of the Hyatt and at the Information Desk in
the playing area.

The Partnership Desk is located in the playing area and will be open each day one hour before the afternoon and evening sessions. The desk
will also be open in the morning one hour before the Morning Swiss Teams on Thursday and Saturday, and the Fast Pairs on Sunday. Please
advise the partnership desk if you find a partner after asking for help!

The Prize Room is located in the Coat room in the hallway between the playing area and the Hyatt Lobby and will be open from 12:45 -
1:15 PM and one hour after the evening sessions starting Wednesday evening. It will not be open before the session on Sunday but will open
for a short time after the Fast Pairs, and for a short time after the Swiss Teams on Monday. Prizes will be awarded for all section tops, for all
strata, in all events, and for winners of each bracket in the KOs. Prizes will also be awarded to first place winners of pair events who do not
have a section top.

Hospitality: Cookies will be available Wednesday evening through Sunday evening between 8 PM and 10 PM in the playing area. We will
have free bagels and donuts and juice on Monday before the team game in the Coleman Room on the 11th floor. Coffee will not be provided so
BYOC. The Hyatt will offer various items for breakfast via cash sales in the hallway outside the playing area.

After the Evening Session –Pulled Pork Sandwiches - Snacks - Wine, Beer and Soda in 1120. The Coleman Room will be used for overflow.

Play free in 2011! There will be prizes awarded in 2 categories: one for players under 2000 masterpoints, and one
unlimited. Players who win the most masterpoints during this tournament, in each category, will receive free entries for
all events in the 2011 Roni Atkins Regional!

                                                                 Announcements

The Executive Board Meeting will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 AM in the Coleman room on the 11th floor of the Hyatt.

The District Board Meeting will be held on Sunday immediately after the afternoon session in the back of the Olive Press Restaurant off the
hotel lobby. If you haven’t turned in the name or names of those representing your unit you may leave the information in the Bulletin office or
notify Lou Joseph when you see him.
The presence of cellular phones and similar electronic devices will be deemed legal at District 5
           events within the following guidelines:
           1) Devices must be turned off completely or if on, in silent ring or vibrating mode ONLY.
           2) Devices CANNOT be used inside any room when a bridge event is currently in session
           3) The first offense will carry a full board (matchpoints) or 12 IMP (teams) penalty dependent
on the event the offender is competing in at the timeof the offense
           4) The second offense will result in the offender being expelled from the session for the duration
           of such session
           5) If the offense is committed by a non-playing attendee the first offense will cause such
attendee to be expelled from the session for the duration of such session

Gene Speckman of Baron Barclay Bridge Supplies will be here starting Wednesday afternoon, and leaving at game time Monday. See Gene for
convention card holders, books, and all your bridge supplies.

The Hyatt is a non-smoking facility. Smoking in the playing area or in any indoor area of the Hyatt is prohibited. Please go to the smoking area
outside the doors leading to the parking lot for your break.

The Swiss on Monday is Stratiflighted. ACBL rules require individual players with over 2000 MPs to play in A/AX, regardless of their team’s
average masterpoints.

A heat of the ACBL-wide instant MP game will be played at the Glenshaw Moose on Thurs. Sept 16 at 7:00 PM. There will be pot-luck
supper at 6:15 PM. Please phone Betty Nesbitt (412-486-5302) or Barb Bergman (724-935-4591) to coordinate food. Details at

Yesterday, positions 1 and 2 were inadvertently reversed. This is the correct standings. The good news is that David
Legal still got enough to become a Life Master, by coming in second with teammates Audrey Marzolf and Bea
and Leroy Hackenberg II. Congratulations David!!

Congratulations as well to Gerrie Littmann of Pittsburgh who also found earned her gold card when she won
her match in the bracket 2 KOs today with teammates Susan McQuillan, Carol Berkman and Evelyn Sobol.
Well done Gerrie!
