  can not be viewed alone.
• All of science is inter-connected, hence the
  “integrated” in the title of this course.
• The thread that connects all of these topics is
  energy!
   How the science is integrated…
• Each arrow represents an energy transfer of
  some sort or another.
• We will spend the rest of the year exploring
  – each of the spheres,
  – the energy transfers within the spheres,
  – the energy transfers between the spheres,
  – how human activities are influenced by the
    spheres, and
  – how human activities influence the spheres .
