1 Open the "Start Up costs" tab to make a record of your expenses before starting to trade and on-going costs such as rent.
The examples provided are there to help you anticipate what your start-up costs may be - you can write in your own descriptions and costs.
Listing your costs in this way will help you distinguish between bills you will need to pay before you start trading and those which will occur later.
The addition at cell C31 is designed to add up only the costs you will incur before starting to trade.
At the same time, the list can be used to make a note of ongoing costs, annual costs and other regular payments once trading starts.
