The Early Support Family Pack
The Family Pack is a set of materials to help families with young disabled children:
co-ordinate information and service provision and
find out some of the things they need to know.
It helps individual professionals and support agencies working with a family to integrate
the services they are providing and to work in partnership with parents and carers.
The Family Pack is a box that contains:
a set of Background Information booklets - see below
a Family file
The booklets and file can be used separately or together - whatever adds the most value.
The materials work best when they are introduced to a family by someone who works
with them, so that’s there’s an opportunity to look through the materials and discuss how
they could be used. Some families use the Family pack over a number of years – it’s
flexible enough to be used in many ways at different stages of a child’s life.
Background information booklets
These booklets give general information about how services are
organised and what families are entitled to. They can be used separately, or in
combination with one another.
