							                                 Beginning Two-Handed
                                  Spey Casting Clinic
                           April 20, 2007 and April 21, 2007
                        Dead line for sign up is February 23rd, 2007

This one day spey casting clinic is designed for novice to beginning anglers interested in
learning the basics of spey casting with a two-handed rod. The following casts will be taught:
Switch Cast, Circle Spey and Double Spey.

Please note: This clinic will focus on learning to cast. There will be no fishing or casting flies
with hooks.

Meeting time and Location: Meet at Mountain River Fly Shop at 7:30 am for a Continental
breakfast and introductions. We will leave at 8:30 and travel to White River and the class will
start promptly at 9:00 am. Please call if you can not be at the store at 8:30 am.

Duration: The clinic will start at 9:00 am and conclude at 4:00 pm. Lunch will be provided.
Please bring additional snacks if so inclined. Bottled water will be provided in addition to
lunch. Please contact the store at (870) 435-6166 if you have special dietary needs.

Store Location: 1177 West Main (Hwy 62/412), Cotter, AR. We are located ¾ of a mile east of
the Hwy 62 bridge over the White River.

Lodging: Contact us and we will be happy to make arrangements or give you a list of
recommended lodging.

Emergency/Contingency Plans: In the event of an emergency or other circumstances that
prevents you from attending the clinic or arriving to the clinic on time please contact Mountain
River Fly Shop @ (870) 435-6166 or the instructor Will Turek on his mobile @ (330) 807-4828
and leave a detailed message including the time you called and a phone number where you
can be reached.

Equipment: Scott Fly Rods, Rio spey lines and high quality fly reels will be provided for
student use. If you wish to purchase your own equipment for this class contact us at
Mountain River Fly Shop. We will have a good selection of spey rods, reels, fly lines and
leaders suitable for the White River as well as other regions. If you are using your own
equipment, please have your rods rigged and ready to cast before the class begins at 9:00 am.
Two-handed rods should be 12-14ft and 6-8wt. Reels should have the capacity to hold 115ft to
130ft of spey line and 100 yds of 20# backing.

You should have the following items for the class
   □   Chest Waders                  □   SPF 30 Sunscreen
   □   Felt soled wading shoes       □   Nippers
   □   Rain jacket                   □   12-15 ft tapered leader (provided)
   □   Comfortable cap or hat        □   Indicator yarn (provided)
   □   Polarized sunglasses
