Set Agenda

Old Business: The RBS Taskforce meeting was held today before the MC2 coalition meeting. The first RBS training is
Saturday, October 8th. There are 9 people signed up. The taskforce is also working on a focus group with the owners and
a separate focus group with the servers. The taskforce is also working on a survey / training for the off-premise
establishments.

Sarah attended the SUD conference in September. Sarah asked the other coalition members who attended the
conference what they thought was memorable or important to share with the group. They all agreed that is was lacking
leaders from the State Department. It was difficult to tell what the State Departments’ intentions are and what direction
they are going in. Everyone would like to see more workshops geared towards prevention. Sarah attended a workshop
that highlighted an activity conducted by the Kent County Prevention Coalition. At the next meeting Sarah is planning to
show a 15 minute video clip on what they did.

New Business: The P2D2 program is moving along. Sarah met with Karen Bacula from MSHS and her environmental
class is very interested in the program. Larry Boburka from WHS let us know his students are excited about the program.
Students from both schools asked a lot of good questions and are both starting on the research phase. It would be a
good idea for both schools to collaborate together. Larry also stated that a few students are designing a website (a
student found an older computer that can be the P2D2 computer). He will also be working with Mrs. Luehmann’s class
about the environmental issues of drug disposal. The students would like to test local lakes and rivers. Sarah is hoping to
have the receptacles out and in use this spring.

Sarah spoke to the coalition about mini grants for FY 2012. If any coalition member knows of a group that could utilize
some money they can fill out an application on the website at upprevent.org. A group can apply for up to $500.00 (senior
all-night parties can receive $100.00).
