									BABC Program Competencies Document Map
As a requirement for graduation, all BABC students at JIU must complete the 2 upper tables on this document map to demonstrate their achievements in the BABC program.
Note: If you have not already done so, download and save this document to your personal computer prior to completing the map.

Directions:
(For Assignment 1.2)
   1. Identify an exemplary assignment that demonstrates each BABC competency listed in the document map below.
           A. For each BABC competency listed in column 1, select ONE course from column 2 containing your best final project or major assignment that demonstrates the corresponding
competency. If a final project does not exist for the course, choose a major assignment on which you received a grade of C or better. Note that you cannot use an assignment twice, so
carefully consider which assignment best demonstrates a particular competency.
           B. In column 3, enter the name of the course, the assignment number and title, and the name of the file that contains your selected assignment.
           C. Make sure that you save each selected assignment (identified in column 3) to the Assignment WorkSpace for this course for viewing by your professor. The file name should include your
last name, the competency letter/number, the selected course name, and the assignment number and title. Example: Smith_K1_BC345_asn8.1 final project submission.doc
   2. Identify an exemplary assignment that demonstrates all of the specialization outcomes for your BABC specialization.
           a. Refer to the BABC handbook (http://www.jiu.edu/pdf/content/JIU_BABC_program.pdf)for the appropriate BABC specialization. Copy and paste all Specialization Outcomes into the
                Proficiencies section below, column 1.
           b. Choose the best final project assignment or major assignment you've completed that demonstrates all of the specialization outcomes. Enter the course number and title in column 2.
           c. Place the assignment's number and title column 3. You may list more than one assignment if you believe that an additional assignment is needed to fulfill all of the specialization outcomes
                listed.
           d. Make sure that you save your assignment(s) to the Forum for viewing by your professor. The file name should contain your last name followed by “proficiencies”, the selected course name,
and the assignment number and title. Example: Smith_proficiencies_BC345_asn8.1 final project submission.doc
   3. Save your completed document map with a file name that includes your last name, followed by “BABC Doc Map”. Example: Smith_BABC Doc Map.doc.

(For Assignment 2.1)
   1. For each exemplary assignment listed in column 3 of your document map, write a reflection statement in column 4 that answer the following questions:
           a. What did I learn?
           b. How did the assignment I completed help me learn it? Why is it significant to me?
           c. In what ways will I use it in the future?
           d. What professional goals can I establish that can make use of what I have learned?
Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 (Complete for Assignment 1.2) Column 4 (Complete for Assignment 2.1)
