GLEBE STREET FAIR For Office Use:
STALLHOLDER APPLICATION FORM 2011 Stall Number

       Sunday, 20th November

                      Food Stall Application
The Glebe Chamber of Commerce invites stallholders to participate in the 2011
Glebe Street Fair on SUNDAY 20th NOVEMBER by taking a stall. The Glebe Street
Fair is produced for the Glebe Chamber of Commerce by Scrine Marketing Services.
Our contact details for stall inquiries is:

Juliet Scrine or Susan Kennedy on
                02 4229 1088 or juliet@glebestreetfair.com
Please complete this form and send it with your payment to the address further down
in the form by Monday 26th September. Stalls will be allocated on a “first come first
served” basis. The stall positions will be changed this year due to changes in traffic
flow and entertainment for this years fair.

The management reserves the right to accept or refuse any application.

Food Safety

Last year Sydney City Council Food Inspectors were unhappy with the way in
which some Food Stallholders operated their Food Stalls, in terms of health
and food safety.

There were stallholders who did not comply with regulations, as set out in the
Sydney City Council Food Regulations document entitled “Requirements for
the Operation of a Temporary Food Stall”. There were breeches in food
temperature control, food display and hand washing facilities in particular.

Sydney Council has a course for Food stallholders so that they can learn how
to operate an open air one day stall at a Fair or market. Glebe Street Fair will
give preference to Food operators who have done this course or a similar
Council food handling course, and can provide relevant documentation.

These courses are regularly run by council and you should contact the council
health officers for further information.
                                                                                                  2

Stall Layout.
This year the layout of stalls will be changed to enhance the food experience at the fair and
also open the street up so that Glebe Street Retailers can benefit more from the crowds that
attend the Fair. A map will be provided soon, so that you can see where stalls are located.
Food stalls will be located in Glebe point road near Bridge Street, in The Glebe Public
School and also outside the Glebe Public School.

There will be limited stalls available this year so we recommend you book early. There will
also be restrictions on the number of stalls selling similar food to ensure all stallholders do
well and that attendees to the fair can enjoy a wide selection of different food.

You can check the stall plan, indicate your preferences and either book by mail, or email.
Your receipt will confirm your booking and your payment. No stalls are allocated unless full
payment is sent along with the application form.

Changes may need to be made to stall allocations by the organizers to accommodate Glebe
business participants, or sponsors. No other changes to stall allocation can be made without
the express written agreement and acknowledgement of the organizers.

Stall sizes
This year, stall sites are based on modules of 5 metres x 2.4 metres, where 5 metres is the
stall frontage. Stalls will be located side by side along Glebe Point Road, or in the newly
created food hall space in the Glebe Primary school grounds. Stallholders are only able to
sell from the 5 metre frontage, unless they have a corner site. There will be some corner
stalls offered at a Premium rate.

Fete stalls
A Double fete stall is 4.8 m x 2.4m and is what is required for a Food Stall. Fete stalls need
to be pre-booked and pre-paid before October 13. It will not be possible to hire a fete
stall on the day of the Fair.

All Bookings are based on information you provide on the Application form.

Power
Powered sites are available for Food Stall operators only, based on modules of 10 or
15 amps. All electrical leads must have been recently inspected and be tagged. We realise
that there are now small, effective silent generators. We would prefer that stallholders do use
their own generators, so that there are fewer problems with a loss of power due to
overloading. Stallholders using their own generators must ensure that the generators are
silenced, and that there is no offensive smoke coming from them. Overall, it is preferable
that you use gas or your own generator.

Public Liability
Stallholders are responsible for their own Public Liability Insurance indemnifying them
against public risk to the value of $10 Million for the Glebe Street Fair. The organizers accept
no responsibility or liability in any way relating to or caused indirectly by any stall, proprietor
or staff on a stall.
Stallholders will need to sign the application form to indemnify the organizers from all risks
relating to the operation of stalls how so ever caused.

Waste and Environmental matters
Stallholders are responsible for the cleanliness of their own stall areas. Please consider
carefully the packaging used for your goods. Paper confetti and polystyrene foam beads
are both environmentally unfriendly and banned from this event. Please also ensure
that you use recyclable containers and utensils for all food.
                                                                                                  3

Wet Weather Policy
The Glebe Street Fair goes ahead no matter what the weather is. Fete stalls and stall frames
can provide some cover, but you would be well advised to come prepared with rain or sun
protection. There will be no refunds made to stallholders due to reduced trade caused by
inclement weather.

Cancellation Policy
Refunds of stall fees will be made less 10% of the full fee until September 30. Between 1
October and 1 November refunds will be made less 25% of the full fee. From 31 October to
6 November, refunds will be made less 50% of the full fee. After 6 November no refunds will
be made.

Food Licences
Please complete the Form “Details of a temporary Food Stall”. Council wishes the Event
Organizer to submit this application, with your payment on your behalf and to collect food
licences for the Glebe Street Fair. Food licenses are compulsory.
