President Obama Meets with ICRF Chair Atty Jeffery Leving

CHICAGO – March 27, 2012 – Chair of the Illinois Council on Responsible Fatherhood
(http://responsiblefatherhood.illinois.gov) and fathers’ rights advocate Attorney Jeffery
M. Leving was in Washington, D.C. last week for a critical meeting with President
Barack Obama and briefings with several of Obama’s advisors in cooperation with the
Futuro Fund, a Hispanic advocacy group headed by Hispanic leaders from across the
country.

Leving met one-on-one with President Obama to discuss critical issues facing our nation
including father absence.

Leving also had briefings with presidential advisors Dr. Martha Kanter, Under Secretary
of the U.S. Department of Education, Nancy-Ann DeParle, Assistant to the President and
Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, and Futuro Fund Co-Chair actress and activist Eva
Longoria on the topics of responsible fatherhood, equal education for all children, policy
reform, and Hispanic advocacy.

The Illinois Council on Responsible Fatherhood is a state commission established by the
Illinois State Legislature to promote the positive involvement of both parents in the lives
of their children. The mission of the Council is to significantly increase the number of
children in Illinois that grow up with a responsible father in their lives.
