INTRODUCTION: Welcome to Story Time! We encourage caregivers to participate with the
children during the program. Each week we will focus on one of the six Early Literacy Skills
that are necessary for children to acquire before they learn to read. Please take this sheet
home and during the coming week discuss the story time theme, read together, and perform
the songs and fingerplays with your child to reinforce this week’s skill, Print Awareness.

CRAFT ACTIVITY: Parents, craft time is your chance to enjoy your child’s creativity as you
watch the craft become whatever the child wants it to be. Take the craft home as a reminder
