					                                        Don “Skinny” Shebesta

Don Shebesta, a 1965 graduate, was a key member of the first UW-Whitewater baseball team to earn a
berth in the national championship tournament. A pitcher and first baseman, Shebesta was a National
Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Honorable Mention All-American and NAIA All-Tournament
selection on the Warhawk team that won the 1966 Wisconsin State University Conference championship
and a trip to the NAIA World Series. Shebesta also started for the UW-Whitewater basketball team his
junior and senior years. Shebesta played baseball and basketball at Janesville (Wisconsin) High School,
and he played semi-professional baseball and basketball in the state for several years. He is currently
employed by the Glendale-River Hills Schools. Elected to the Hall of Fame in 1990.
