           USRP Hardware
 As mentioned last time, we had one working
  and one malfunctioning USRP board.
 Defective one was sent back to Ettus last
  week.
 We received the USRP back from them
  today, and performed tests to ensure that it
  was indeed working.

• Without a second USRP, the available choices of what
  could be done were very limited.
• Simply sensing the ambient spectrum seems to verify
  functionality, but nothing interesting in view.
• With 2 radios we can set up a transmitter and receiver

        Testing of FM Radio
• Plan on using one USRP to transmit, and one to
  receive.
• If this fails then a backup plan would be to use a
  function generator or spectrum analyzer as the
  transmitter/receiver to one of the radios.
• Obtained a function generator capable of
  producing a frequency-modulated tone in the
  2.4GHz range, as that is the type of antenna
  available on the USRP.
• Can use the USRP and the GNU Radio software
  to receive, demodulate, and play back the tone.

         FSK Progress
• Work on frequency-shift keyed radio
  has slowed:
  – Attempts to incorporate existing FSK
    work into this project have been met
    with numerous compiling errors.
  – Creating our own from scratch may not
    be feasible with the time remaining.
  – Evaluation of FSK’s viability is in
    progress.
