You need to pay the balance of your tour 14 days prior to departure. Please note: If you have any trekking included in your tour, please note the following: Private tours vs group tours Our tours are structured so they can leave any day with two people. Some people prefer the solitude of trekking alone and opt to have a “private tour” whereas some people enjoy meeting others and would like to trek in a group. These “group tours” start out as just two people but are advertised on our website as “Trekkers Wanted.” As the group grows in size the price per person drops and will be organised at the final briefing in Cusco. The maximum size of our groups is eight people. PLEASE NOTE – If you are just two people and you wish to have a ‘PRIVATE TOUR’ with just the two of you there will be a surcharge of $60 (that is, $30 each). If you have 3 or more in your group and wish to have a private tour you will not need to pay this surcharge. If you are just two people and you advertise on trekkers wanted and your tour does not attract any extra trekkers then you will not need to pay the surcharge. When making your booking please carefully revise the list of inclusions specific for your tour on the APUS PERU website and contact us immediately if you require clarification. Again, thanks for your interest – if you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to contact us. I hope to hear from you soon again! (Bus included in price) so that you can appreciate this famous city in the dawn light and before the crowds arrive. You will then have a 2.5 hour guided tour of Machu Picchu with your guide. After your tour you can further explore the ruins by yourself or climb Huayna (Wayna)Picchu for that classic photo of Machu Picchu. Please note that new regulations (designed to protect the ruins and for the safety of visitors) mean that there are two entry times to Huayna Picchu - at 7am and 10am, and each time has a limit of 400 entries. Also try to fit in a visit to the Temple of the Moon or Uyna Huayna Picchu while visiting Huayna Picchu. Normally, during high season those people who climb Huayna picchu spend a extra day at the ruins just to get in the queue for the mountain and then spend a good amount of time on this classic mountain. If you don't get to do Huayna Picchu, other options are: - Inti Punku (gate of the sun) this is the location where the classic inca trail arrives. - Inca Bridge - Machu Picchu mountain. We highly recommend walking down from Machu Picchu to get a feeling for the vegetation and also the audacity of its builders. Its a 1.5 hour walk back to the village of Aguas Calientes. We return to Cusco in the afternoon by the vistadome train (approx 3pm) and are met by a driver at Ollantaytambo who will transfer you directly back to your hotel. Andahuaylillas – entry 5 soles (not included) The most important attraction for the visitors is its church: San Pedro de Andahuaylillas considered the "Sistine Chapel" of America due to the quality of its art pieces. Built at the beginning of VII century, the interior of the temple is decorated with murals performed by Luis Riaño ( XVII century) representing the path to glory and the path to hell. He was also said to be the author of the low borders of the wall and an important oil painting of the archangel San Miguel. Besides, this church holds a majestic piano, numerous canvases of the Cusqueno School (of artists), silver work and baroque altars. Raqchi – entry 10 soles (not included) The enormous Temple of Wiracocha at Raqchi is one of the most mysterious constructions in Cusco. It is a unique complex of cylinder-shaped columns and four naves. There is no other construction like this, which is believed to have been the biggest Inca building in the whole empire! However, this is not the only ruin left standing as there is also a great wall, ceremonial fountains, sphere-shaped buildings and rectangular houses. The Wiracocha Temple stands in what was actually a heavily-populated area, a "tambo" (resting house) of vast dimensions, spreading across 264 hectares. The complex is made up of housing, temples, palaces, astronomical observation points, food storehouses and walls. La Raya The highest point between Cusco and Puno (14234 feet), it is also the beginning of the famous sacred valley, and the meeting point between two very ancient civilizations: Quechuas (cusco region) and Aymaras (region of Puno). Pukara – entry 5 soles - Here you will be able to see some interesting litosculptures belonging to a very ancient civilization called Pukara, a previous culture to that of Tiawanaco and one of the most important civilizations that originated the famous Tawantinsuyo inca impire.
