Instructions for Individual PowerPoint Slide 1. Double click on the Microsoft PowerPoint icon. 2. Click on blank presentation. 3. Click on the blank layout icon. (Icon that shows a blank page) 4. Click on WordArt (the slanted A) at the bottom of the screen. 5. Type your letter, choose your font, and choose the size. Click okay. 6. Click on text box beside the slanted A. 7. Begin typing your poem in the text box. 8. Once you are finished with the letter and the text, you can start adding graphics. 9. Click on Clip Art beside the slanted A at the bottom of the screen. 10. Choose one or two graphics that relate to your class and classmates. 11. Once your slide is finished, right click on the letter. 12. Click on Custom Animation. 13. Check each item you want to have move onto the slide. 14. Go to order and timing. Put the items in the order you wish them to appear on the slide. 15. You need to set the timing to automatic and choose how long the pause should be after each item appears on the screen. 16. Click on the first item, go to effects, and then choose the effect for the first item. Click preview to make sure you like that effect. 17. Go back to order and timing, click on the second item, go to effects, and then choose the effect. Click preview to make sure you like that effect. 18. Go back to order and timing, click on the next item, go to effects, and then choose the effect. Click preview to make sure you like that effect. Continue until all the items have an effect. 19. Once all the items have effects, click on preview to see the effects for the slide. 20. Go to Slide Show at the top of the screen. Click on view show to check your slide one more time. Click on the screen somewhere to end the show, and then click. Let another student watch your slide and ask for suggestions for improvements. 21. Notify your teacher that you have finished your slide. Your teacher will save your slide onto a disk.
