NMR EduMail 2011 AiZ Registrations for follow up secondary
mathematics training with Professor Peter Sullivan open

Audience:      Principals, Northern Metropolitan Region Secondary and P–12
               Schools


                                     Summary
Secondary school Mathematics learning leaders and teachers who attended
the Semester 1 Secondary Mathematics workshops with Peter Sullivan
are invited to a half day follow up session commencing on Wednesday, 24
August. Registrations, via PD Online, close on Monday, 22 August 2011.



The Achievement Improvement Zones (AiZ) is offering a half day follow up workshop
for secondary schools mathematics learning leaders and teachers with Professor
Peter Sullivan.

This half day session is a follow on from term 1, where participants discussed and
developed a range of initiatives to engage and teach maths in their schools.

During this follow up session the participants will present an evaluation of the various
initiatives that they have implemented within their school and classrooms and discuss
the outcomes in terms of student engagement and learning and possible next steps.

Time
All training days are full days.
Time:                   9.00 am to 12.30 pm
Registration:           From 8.30 am (tea/coffee on arrival)
Morning tea will be provided.

NMIT Conference Centre – Preston Campus
Building U
Cramer Street, Preston
Melway reference: Map 18 E12
Direction details:
 enter via St Georges Road
 drive past the student car park
 parking will be available on the oval
 report to the car park attendant.

Building U is adjacent to the oval.

Cost
There is no cost to attend this training.
Schools are responsible for CRT release and travel costs for participants.

Registration

Registration for this series of training is a requirement to attendance. Participants
only need to register for the first session – they will automatically be registered for
session 2.

Those interested in attending are asked to register online at: http://www.pd-
online.com.au/ and follow the instructions.

Register for the program: ‘AiZ Secondary Maths Follow up session with Peter
Sullivan – 31 August 2011’.

Learning leaders are asked to register by Friday, 26 August 2011.

Using PD Online

Registrations for professional development activities are entered online using the PD
Online system. The address for PD Online is http://www.pd-online.com.au/.

Users should either login or request an account via the PD Online homepage.

Each participant must have an account before they can register for any activities.

If you have difficulties logging in, go to the Help button on the front page. The online
administrator will reply to your email as soon as possible.

Registering for a PD

Click on ‘Register for a new PD’:

   Scroll down to the name of the activity you wish to attend, and to register click the
    box.

   Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and confirm you have approval to
    attend the selected activity by clicking the box.

   Then click ‘Register for selected PD course’.

You will receive a confirmation email if you have registered successfully.

Multiple sessions
Some programs include multiple sessions. When you register for the first session you
will automatically be registered for the other sessions. You do not need to register for
each individual session.

heading ‘More Information’ and download the file.

Withdrawing from activities

If you have registered for an activity via PD Online and find that you are unable to
attend:

   Go to Login to PD Online and scroll down to ‘Withdrawals’. Click on ‘Withdrawal
    from a PD’ and the names of activities in which you are enrolled will come up.

   Click on the Cancel? button and follow the instructions to withdraw from the
    particular activity in which you are enrolled and not able to attend.

You will receive a confirmation email if you have successfully withdrawn from
the activity.
