Position: Elected (1 year President-elect; 1 year President; 1 year Past President)
Time Commitment: Approximately 10 hours per month plus travel (board meetings, etc.)
I. Serves as a voting member of the Board of Directors. Required to attend APIC-VA Board
meetings and annual membership meeting.
II. Submit budget request to treasurer in October for the following year.
III. Prepare and submit an annual report for distribution at the annual membership meeting.
IV. Preside over Board meetings, business meetings and carry on APIC-VA official business. The
President (or designated representative) will represent the organization at meetings of other
A. Coordinate times and locations for Board Meetings.
B. Prepare Board Meeting agendas.
C. Prepare correspondence synopsis for Board Meeting attendees.
D. Communicate expectations with all presenters and recording/correspondence secretary.
E. Prepare and present “Presidents Report” at APIC-VA Annual Education Conference.
V. Prepare presentations for January Transitional Board Meeting:
A. Prepare and present APIC-VA Goals appointed year.
B. Present Board of Directors for appointed year.
C. Present Committee Chairs for appointed year. (Responsible for appointment of all
standing committee chairmen, except for Nominating Committee)
D. Prepare and present Executive Committee appointments for appointed year.
E. Prepare and present Board Meetings schedule for appointed year.
VI. Serve as ex-officio member of all committees except for the Nominating Committee. Travel and
meeting times must be considered.
VII. Attend or delegate a representative to attend the Presidents meeting at the National APIC Annual
Conference. This meeting is held on the Sunday prior to the conference and includes the
VIII. Prepare and submit “Message From The President” column for APIC-VA Newsletter.
IX. Responsible as a contact for all APIC-VA correspondence. Act as liaison between national
organization and other associated organizations.
X. Responsible for appointment and termination of special committees as necessary.
