Veteran Attorney Bolsters CMK’s Extensive Practice in Insurance and
Reinsurance Law

NEW YORK, N.Y., Oct. 13, 2008 – Doug Eisenstein, an attorney with broad experience
litigating high exposure commercial disputes and insurance coverage actions, has
joined Carroll McNulty & Kull LLC (CMK) as Counsel in its New York office. With the
addition of Eisenstein, CMK has significantly strengthened its already extensive
insurance coverage and reinsurance practices.

“CMK has quickly become one of New Jersey’s premier law firms and it is rapidly
establishing itself as a major player in New York,” said Eisenstein. “It offers a creative
and energetic environment that is difficult for any attorney to resist.”

Eisenstein is admitted to practice in New York, the Eastern, Southern and Western
Districts of New York, the District of New Jersey and the Eastern District of Michigan.
He is a graduate of the University of Florida with a BA in Criminology and Law and of
the Brooklyn Law School.

Among Eisenstein’s key accomplishments is his successful representation of the
manufacturer of water filtration systems in a $240 million action for lost profits and loss
of enterprise value caused by the stigma from an outbreak of Legionnaire’s disease on
a cruise ship. His achievements on the case included leading a team in preparing post-
trial motions that resulted in the reversal of 95 percent of a $193 million verdict,
obtaining a $23 million verdict on retrial and serving as co-first chair on both trials. In
addition, he represented insurers in a $14.4 billion coverage action brought by
Silverstein Properties concerning the destruction of the World Trade Center, on which
he served as trial counsel in the phase one and phase two trials.

“Doug’s background certainly speaks for itself,” said Kull. “His wealth of experience
bolsters our insurance coverage and commercial disputes practices and instantly gives
our New York office more of a presence in reinsurance.”
