the Fullness of Silence

Never in human history have we seen so much human insecurity. Our collective
existence as a human collective is now threatened, weakened and undervalued. We are
witnesses of the fact that no level of material wealth guarantees our peace and security.
Human insecurity is affecting the rich and the poor; it is affecting everyone everywhere.
The Power of Silence
Silence is an experience and not a theoretical construct.
And, in this sense, most of us, if not everyone, have experienced the benefits from
But where do these benefits come from? These benefits come from at least five
fundamental dimensions of life:
First, it is through silence that we are able to penetrate into our true self and get to know
ourselves as we really are. In this case, the benefit comes from tapping into our true
nature and our true source of existence. One may say that the benefit from silence is the
enrichment of our inner ability to become conscious of our consciousness. This is to say,
to experience the self at the level of pure consciousness.
Second, it is through silence that we experience the ultimate nature and importance of
stillness in our lives, and the how this state of reality lays at the core of every activity. All
movement comes from no movement. This is why when we walk one leg must remain
standing still. Otherwise we will be hopping. Thought comes from no thought. In order to
think, we need a split of a second in stillness. Matter comes from no matter. Activity
comes from emptiness. The source of action is non action. The source of sound is
silence. A melody only exists because of the power of silence in between two musical
notes. And, it is in the fullness of this silence that we find wisdom and intelligence.
Silence is not empty.
Third, it is through silence that we heal, invigorate, rest, and rejuvenate our lives. All
living beings necessitate to tapping into infinite calmness to detach from perceptions,
thoughts, preoccupations, emotions of all sorts, and desires. We cannot remain
permanently connected to those states of reality. Otherwise we will disintegrate in all
senses of the word. If all were noise and sound most probably we would die. The power
of silence will reconstruct our sense of boundlessness, inner freedom and inner space.
The power of silence will bring back the inner rhythm of time and the balance of empty
Fourth, it is through silence that the deepest and most important sources of memory
would surface. This surfacing will enable us to remember our mission in this life time and
to establish foundations to attain that mission objectives and goals. The essence of
spirituality is to remembering the mission and executing it within this life time. In this
sense, spirituality is a life of silence. It is a life of tapping into the fullness of inner
existence. Silence becomes the primordial element from which everything else follows.
Our primordial existence begins to permeate in all we do and joy and fulfillment surface.
Finally, it is through silence that we may self realize our states of being and thus live a
fulfilled life. In silence we self-realize peace, love, compassion, solidarity, justice and so
much more. Silence fuels self-realization and brings into bear the interdependence and
interconnectedness of inner and outer experiences as two complementary sides of the
same reality. Silence polishes the roughness of spaces and instances that limit our ability
to become those states of reality that lay at the core of every human existence. World
peace is born and nurtured by and from silence. This is why the primary step towards
peace is to stop a war silencing the guns.
Silence is a necessary ingredient in our conscious and subconscious minds. No wonder
why many people look for calmness and peace by solitary walking through a forest,
climbing a mountain, or any pristine environment. It is a form of communion between life
and life itself.
In a biological sense, silence clearly soothes the nervous system and calms the pulse and
brings the bio-rhythms to its perfection. Calming of the mind is always an added benefit.
Those who do not practice silence have a major difficulty in disconnecting from daily
perceptions, tough and maybe unwanted responsibilities, negative intentions and thinking,
deep seated emotions from this or previous life times, attachments to desires and
ambitions, and much more. They are often people with disturbed minds, shattered
nervous systems and very amenable to all sort of diseases of the body and the mind.
Silence is not an empty experience. Those who experience silence as empty are not
really within the realm of silence. Just the sense of infinite calmness is a sign of
experiencing the fullness of silence.
Silence is the real source of everything. The existence of something is based on
nothingness. And it is in nothingness that all is conceived. Silence is the core energy of
the womb of all existence. Even the space around us and everywhere is a form of
silence. Emptiness is rooted in silence. Time happens in the infinite expressions of
Silence houses the nature of opposites. Night and day are examples. Light and darkness
are another example. Opposite opinions and perspectives are also housed in the ones of
Entering into the state of silence must be a daily practice. It is a natural practice because
we are born from silence. It is this daily practice that will also heal our selves of any
disease or negative happenings. The true healing comes from within our selves. The
healing power of spiritual silence is to be taught everywhere. Silence meditation is one of
Love and compassion quiets the mind and opens the heart. In modern times, most
people have lost their ability to be in contact with their true self. Silence and stillness are
a means to recover that ability!
There is more noise than ever before. In our houses there are all sources of noise. Even
some people sleep with the TV on! These man-made noises are not always beneficial. In
modern life people are no longer used to dwell into silence.
The challenge today is to find the appropriate balance between inner and outer noise and
inner and outer silence. Our senses are bombarded with external stimulus leaving them
clinging to external forces and attachments to the outside world.
Noise toxicity is one of the major diseases of our generation. It has crowded out our
attempts to become inner scientists and to research the true nature of life. We have
mutilated our quiet form of self realization. It is urgent that we enter into silence and bring
Silence is the foundation of healing. Without healing we will not be able to make contact
with peace, love, compassion, forgiveness...
Silence is the true meaning of interpersonal communication and exchanges. It will be
through the power of silence that peace negotiations will become successful. Peace, like
love, cannot be forced into happening.
Peace Is Rooted In Silence
Peace is not a phenomenon external to us that we have to reach out or that is amenable
to be acquired by material means. Peace is not outside us.
Peace is a state of being and as such it must be self realized individually and collectively.
Supermarkets and shopping centers do not sell peace. Peace is deeply rooted in the Self
of every living being in this Planet. It is rooted in silence.
And, it is the unfolding of peace from within this silence that we will be able to sparking the
fundamental energies and conditions for individual and collective peace and, thus, for
A unique feature of this new millennium is that we live within a powerful form of collective
existence. The essence of that collective existence is our total interdependence. And
silence is the best connector of every heart and soul in this collective.
We are interdependent through silence in every sense. It is through silence that we
experience our interdependence with all living beings.
Silence is the strongest platform for inner peace and inner peace is the true foundation of
Silence through meditation, contemplation, prayer and inner awareness is a powerful
instrument to both nurture and develop inner peace and world peace.
Silence creates a unique and singular state of unbounded qualities.
Silence transcends all possible physical and nonphysical frontiers. It travels to every
country and human and natural environments. It is in silence where we embrace activity.
There is no activity that results from activity. Therefore, it is essential to extend our entire
existence to the self realization of the fullness of silence.
It is the fullness of silence that creates the conditions for inner peace.
Silence provides each person an ideal and an effective road map and organizing principle,
whereby our human consciousness expresses itself freely and enables us to unfold the
deepest forms of love and compassion that sustain our inner peace.
Peace is not an external phenomenon.
Peace is not a “thing” to be bought and sold.
Peace is not the absence of war. That is just the absence of war.
Our Commitment to Peace
What should we do next?
First, recognize that we are not at peace and make all efforts to create a new and
embracing, universal culture of inner peace.
Second, identify very simple ways to creating a culture of peace. We need no money to
love, contemplate, meditate, pray, and be in deep silence.
Third, think about peace as a form of empowerment, peace as a form of human ethics.
Peace as a form of human transformation, and peace as a form of our collective destiny.
Fourth, eliminate all forms of fears. Fear is the most powerful cause of violence. Fear is
central to human insecurity and human insecurity brings fundamentalism. Fear is the
destroyer of universal values and collective welfare, in favor of individualism. Fear is the
most effective vehicle to debilitate all processes of human empowerment. Fear is the
foundation of negative dimensions of our ego.
Fifth, rebuild, and when appropriate, to create new collective institutions, including the
family, the work place, the neighborhood organizations, the political systems, and the
Sixth, stop immediately existing wars. This should be a non-negotiable item. Stop now.
Yes, stop now.
Seventh, have a new “Marshall Plan” to assist victims of war, those who are in camps,
those who are homeless, those who have no medical or psychological assistance, and
those who are abandoned.
Eight, create new mechanisms to redistribute wealth, to create economic opportunities
and to bring high levels of human security.
Ninth, disarm everyone. This is not naïve, this is not a utopia, and this is urgently
needed. Defensive postures are a major source of conflict. Promoting human insecurity is
a violent act. It is a criminal act. Let stop it.
Tenth, love, love, love. Do not stop loving. Have no fear of loving. Just love yourself,
love your neighbor, love your friends, and love your enemies.
Silence meditations are being organized in many countries around the world.
It is an activity that demonstrates not only the deep commitment we have for world peace,
but also it is an instrument to enhance our abilities to unfold our individual and collective
Traditional instruments for world peace are failing everywhere, as they are not rooted in
the self realization of peace. Thus, at best some moment without conflict is achieved,
although this is not sustainable and it is not really a state of peace.
Let give world peace a chance, we must enter into ourselves and unfold peace from
The most powerful path you may embrace to bring peace, love and compassion is “to
increase your ability to become the other without losing your own identity”
This is the essence of peace. This is the nature of your inner peace.
You will become yourself through silence and thus through the self realization of peace.
You must become walking peace everywhere you are. Be a transformer, not a passive or
Through silence you will learn to communicate in a very effective way, you will learn to
communicate heart to heart, and you will learn to communicate soul to soul.
Go and let all people know that peace is not just ‘another option’ but our only destiny.
We come from Peace and we are to go to Peace.
This is a call.
Peace be with you.
Peace be you.
Peace is you and you are peace
Join this world movement for everlasting world peace!
In love and service to humanity.
