               Search Committee meets with APS to review process - contact APS to arrange
               Draft Vacancy Announcement and advertisement copy
               Submit Form 1 - Request to Recruit with Attachments
               Upon notification of approval, dept. places advertisements in publications, web sites, etc.
               DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT/BEGINNING REVIEW OF APPLICATIONS
               Review applications for minimum qualifications and incomplete applications
               Submit Form 2 - Applicant Log - for review by APS
               CAN NOT CONTINUE WITH SCREENING UNTIL POOL HAS BEEN APPROVED
               Upon notification of approval of pool, screen applications according to developed criteria
               Select applicants for telephone interviews
               Submit Form 3 - Request for Interviews (Telephone)
               Upon notification of approval, conduct telephone interviews
               Conduct reference checks to narrow pool
               Select applicants for on-campus interviews
               Submit Form 3 - Request for Interviews (Personal)
                  Attach Form 4 - Summary of Interviews (Telephone)/Reasons for non-selection
               Upon approval, conduct on-campus interviews; contact APS to arrange meeting with the
                  Provost or his designee.
               Select finalist for recommendation to Dean
               Conduct final reference checks, if necessary
               Submit Form 5 - Request to Offer Appointment - and Form 5R, Reference Data
                  Attach Form 4 - Summary of Interviews (Personal)/Reasons for Non-selection


APS prepares letter of offer for Provost's signature and corresponds with candidate to complete the offer process.
Once APS notifies department that candidate has accepted the position, department prepares Form 400, Recommendation
for Probationary Faculty Appointment


PROCESS SHOULD BE COMPLETED NO LATER THAN MID APRIL (Receipt of signed letter of offer)
DO NOT PROCEED WITH NEXT STEP UNTIL NOTIFICATION OF APPROVAL HAS BEEN RECEIVED FROM APS
ANY EXCEPTIONS TO THE ABOVE PROCESS MUST BE REQUESTED IN WRITING AND APPROVED BY APS
BEFORE IMPLEMENTING.
